Chau Thanh: Donating 9 solidarity houses to poor households

On the morning of April 22, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Chau Thanh District organized the handover of 9 solidarity houses to 9 households in the communes of Hao Duoc, Thai Binh, Dong Khoi, Hoa Hoi, An Binh, and Bien Gioi.

Attending the event were Mr. Truong Van Hoan, Secretary of Chau Thanh District Party Committee, leaders of the People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district, local authorities of communes and sponsoring units.

9 houses were given to 9 households including: Ms. Hoang Thi Kim Huong (born in 1993) and Ms. Duong Thu Trang (born in 1978), both residing in Hao Duoc commune; Ms. Pham Thi Ha (born in 1969) and Mr. Do Van Tri (born in 1970), both residing in Hoa Hoi commune; Ms. Tran Thi Dau (born in 1940), residing in Dong Khoi commune; Ms. Truong Thi Hai (born in 1955), residing in Thai Binh commune; Ms. Do Thi Be (born in 1986), Mr. Do Van Thuan (born in 1989), both residing in Bien Gioi commune; Tran Van Quan (born in 1976), residing in An Binh commune.

District leaders presented decisions to hand over houses and give pictures of Uncle Ho to the families.

Each house has an average area of ​​42m2 , corrugated iron roof, tiled floor, worth 90 million VND. The construction cost was supported by Binh Phuoc Lottery and General Services Company Limited with 80 million VND for each house, and the Commune Fund for the Poor supported each house with 10 million VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tri Cuong, Vice Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee, said that in response to the Government's program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Chau Thanh District has built and repaired 55 houses of gratitude and 185 houses of solidarity. In the first phase, the district handed over 43 houses of solidarity to households before the Lunar New Year of At Ty, the remaining houses will be handed over by the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses to the people before April 30, 2025, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

At the handover ceremony, the sponsor and local authorities presented many gifts to the households, hoping that the families would continue to strive to do business to escape poverty sustainably.
