DNVN - To complete the draft Law on Electricity (amended), the Minister of Industry and Trade requested the Drafting Committee, together with EVN and PVN Groups, to conduct a final review based on the principle that issues that are "ripe", have sufficient scientific basis and have been proven in practice, and have long-term stability will be filtered and included.
Chairing a meeting on the draft Law on Electricity (amended) on September 13 in Hanoi, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that the draft Law on Electricity (amended) will be submitted to the National Assembly for comments at the 8th session in October. In case the draft Law is well prepared by the Government and the discussion process at the National Assembly reaches high consensus, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and coordinate with the Government to submit it to the National Assembly for approval at the 8th session, following the procedure at a session.
According to the Minister of Industry and Trade, in the spirit of efforts to absorb and amend through consultations, all the difficulties in implementing the Electricity Law in the past and new issues such as renewable energy, new energy, perfecting the electricity market at 3 levels, operation management, management of implementation of slow-progressing electricity projects, etc. have had many practices and handling experiences included in the draft Law. However, there are still some contents that the Drafting Committee and Editorial Team need to continue to exchange and discuss to soon reach agreement and complete the draft Law.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien highly appreciated the responsible and effective working spirit of the Drafting Committee and Editorial Team to complete the draft to be submitted to the National Assembly Standing Committee in the coming time.
However, to complete the draft Law on Electricity (amended), the Minister requested the Drafting Committee, the Editorial Team and the two EVN and PVN Groups to review the Draft Law for the last time according to the principle that issues that are "ripe", have sufficient scientific basis and have been proven in practice, and have long-term stability will be filtered and included in the draft Law. New issues that require time to be tested, and factors that are highly volatile according to development trends will be stipulated in principle in the Law, while specific and detailed contents will be assigned to the Government for guidance.
Regarding the issues that have been accepted, the Minister requested the Drafting Committee and Editorial Team of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with EVN and PVN Groups to further review the terminology and writing style in the draft Law.
Regarding issues with different opinions, the Minister requested the Drafting Committee and Editorial Team to review and complete the contents in accordance with the provisions of the Law to ensure feasibility with the aim of ensuring energy security for the country and ensuring national defense and security.
"The editorial team and the drafting committee must urgently complete the draft law according to the direction of the Minister to meet the deadline for submission to the Government and the National Assembly," the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized.
