Although his family does not have a military tradition, Quang always receives encouragement from his relatives. "My parents always stand behind me to support me in any decision I make. The support of my family is a solid foundation to help me overcome all difficulties," Quang shared. Not disappointing expectations, the young man from Thai Nguyen passed the entrance exam to the Military Technical Academy with an impressive score of 27.35. Thanks to his high university entrance exam score, Quang was chosen to study abroad. After a year of studying foreign languages at school, Quang received a scholarship from Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University. However, when studying in Russia, Quang faced a language barrier. "The pressure from communication, studying in a completely new environment and homesickness made me feel sad and discouraged. But I overcame it step by step," Quang shared. The officer graduated with honors in both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Russia. Photo: NVCC
The challenging 5-year journey in the land of the White Birch ended with a sweet result. The young man graduated with a GPA of 4.9/5, and was the only foreign student of the Institute of Computer Science and Technology to graduate with honors. After that, Quang was sent by the school to study for a master's degree at ITMO University, majoring in Computer Engineering. Here, the officer continued to make his mark by completing his excellent master's thesis, being among the students with the highest scores in the school with a GPA of 4.95/5. Quang was also the only master's student of the faculty to win the "Science Everest ITMO" competition for the school's best graduation thesis. The secret to success Quang emphasized that the diligence, self-awareness and iron discipline of a soldier are the keys to all success. “Discipline is strength. It helps me maintain my determination and spirit to overcome all challenges. At the end of the week, I usually make a specific plan for the coming week, including tasks that need to be completed, lab deadlines, and exam schedules. This helps me proactively work ahead of time and not be surprised by unexpected tasks,” Quang affirmed.Quang said discipline and diligence are the keys to achieving impressive academic achievements. “There are days when I work hard in the lab from early morning until 9-10pm before going home. Sometimes, I spend more time in the lab than at home. In return, I get to do what I am passionate about and work with great people," Quang added. In addition, Quang also participates in many scientific seminars, publishes many school-level articles and international publications. To young people, especially those who want to wear the army uniform, Quang shared: “Set your goals early and be determined to achieve them. Don't let your years of study slip away in vain in having fun or simply passing the subjects and getting a degree. Don't let yourself graduate and hold a university degree in your hand but not know what you want to do or what field you want to specialize in.” Lieutenant Nguyen Nhu Quang is currently participating in a military-political training course at the Army Officer School 1 before being assigned to work. The male student hopes to be assigned according to his wishes so that he can contribute to his full potential. “We can’t choose where we were born, but we can choose how we live. This motto has become a compass that helps me overcome all challenges,” said Nhu Quang.Vietnamnet.vn
