(Dan Tri) - From his daughter's homework, Mr. Le Trung Hieu (living in Hoc Mon, Ho Chi Minh City) successfully researched and created flower dyes and conditioners to keep flowers fresh for a long time.
As a research engineer, Hieu always witnessed the scene of many fresh flowers in Da Lat being discarded due to wilting, which made him always worried. From that worry, he spent many sleepless nights thinking about finding the "secret" to help farmers keep flowers beautiful and fresh longer.

Holding a bouquet of colorful fresh flowers, Mr. Hieu said that by chance, his daughter was assigned a practice exercise on dyeing natural flowers by her teacher. To help her complete the exercise, he tried mixing food coloring with water, but the flowers did not color. At that time, he tried to buy foreign flower dye, although it was successful, the price was very expensive. After that, Mr. Hieu tried using magnetically treated water mixed with organic color, the flower color came out very quickly and beautifully. From there, Mr. Hieu researched and created flower dye to help flower branches change color and keep flowers fresh for a long time.

"Based on magnetic water treatment technology, water after magnetic treatment will break down water molecules, allowing water to easily circulate in the plant's veins. The solution to help flowers stay fresh longer includes magnetic water to help plants absorb more water, add sugar as nutrition for plants and copper ions to kill bacteria. From there, this solution helps flowers stay fresh longer," Mr. Hieu shared. According to Mr. Hieu, with flower dye water, organic color particles mixed with magnetic water will be easily absorbed by plants, thereby helping plants absorb water and change color quickly. To date, Mr. Hieu has researched and produced 130 flower dye colors. With the product to keep flowers fresh longer, from 1 product, there are now 6 products for each different harvesting stage of each garden. "In the past, white mesh chrysanthemums (makoto) were only used in funerals, but now on the market this type of chrysanthemum is dyed blue, red, purple, pink, etc. In Da Lat, white chrysanthemums are sold in the garden for 10,000 VND/plant, but when dyed, the price increases by about 15-30%," said Mr. Le Hieu.

Flower dyeing technology also contributes to increasing the value of some traditional flowers on the market. Previously, in nature, peonies were only white and yellow. Currently, most of these flowers are dyed in many different colors by major brands and are popular in the market. Sharing about his plans for 2024, Mr. Hieu revealed that in the coming time, he will continue to research multi-purpose cleaning water such as cleaning mattresses, leather goods, etc. based on the available technology platform of magnetic water.
