On the evening of September 14, the final round of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 ended with the highest title belonging to beauty Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen. The titles of First Runner-up and Second Runner-up were awarded to beauties Nguyen Quynh Anh and Vu Thuy Quynh, respectively. In addition to the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 crown worth 24 million VND, Ky Duyen won a ticket to represent Vietnam at the Miss Universe 2024 contest in Mexico this November with a cash prize of 2 billion VND.
With this achievement, Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen became the first Miss Vietnam in history to own the crown of Miss Vietnam 2014 and the crown of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024. The two times the beauty from Nam Dinh was crowned were exactly 10 years apart.

Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen: Daring, not afraid to "shed the existing brilliant coat"
Before being crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen was already a familiar face to the beauty-loving community when she was crowned Miss Vietnam 2014. The beauty from Nam Dinh had repeatedly caused controversy in public opinion, causing her to lose points in the eyes of the public when photos and clips of her smoking at a coffee shop were revealed; she was late for press conferences and events... Faced with the scandal surrounding Miss Ky Duyen, the Miss Vietnam organizing committee at that time reprimanded her and stripped her of the right to crown her successor.

She entered the modeling industry and took on the role of coach for The Look 2017. Ky Duyen attracted attention when she registered to participate in the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 contest. Explaining her participation in this contest, the beauty born in 1996 said that she has always been concerned about her unfinished goals. “I decided to return with the goal of winning a ticket to represent Vietnamese beauty in the international arena – Miss Universe. I don’t know what the developments and results will be this time, but I will definitely be serious, focused and prepare as best as possible, just like how I have always been determined with my decisions,” Miss Vietnam 2014 shared.
In her journey to conquer the crown of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen also received many mixed opinions. In episode 1 of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, judge and supermodel Thanh Hang commented: "Ky Duyen is very reckless, full of risks ahead when shedding the brilliant coat she already has."
However, the beauty from Nam Dinh said that instead of thinking too much about the gains and losses when participating in a beauty contest, she will focus on working to fulfill her dream.

After being named as the owner of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 crown, Ky Duyen made a beautiful gesture by declaring that she would donate 500 million VND of her prize money at the contest to support people in the northern provinces who are suffering damage after storm No. 3.

“Thank you everyone for cheering on the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 contestants today! Before the final night took place, I posted an article saying that I would use my prize money from Miss Universe Vietnam if I won the prize to support people in flood-affected areas.
Today, I have done it. I would like to donate 500 million VND of my own money to support all the people who are severely affected by the recent storm. I hope that my action will be able to call on more people to help the people in the North at this time because they need us," the new Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 shared.
Miss Ky Duyen added that she will use the remaining prize money from the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 contest to prepare for her journey to participate in the Miss Universe 2024 contest in Mexico. "If I do not use all of that money, I will donate the rest to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front," the beauty said.
