The reconstruction of the portraits of 10 female youth volunteers who died at Dong Loc T-junction (Ha Tinh) is part of the second phase of the project to digitize the "digital heritage" of martyrs, which a group of information technology experts have started to implement since around March 2023. Based on the remaining photos, the experts will use artificial intelligence to reconstruct each part of the portrait, before putting the characters into a specific context. In the photo, martyr Vo Thi Tan (born in 1944), the "eldest sister" of Squad 4.

Experts say that artificial intelligence will rely on the basic features in the original photo, from which it will “fill in” the missing details. The highlight of this technology is that it helps preserve the character’s expressions as they were when they were alive.
