This activity is part of the School Dentistry Program on dental care and prevention for students at school to gradually take care of oral health, reduce the rate of oral diseases for students in particular and the community in general. At the same time, raise community awareness of the importance of dental care, train children in the habit of keeping their teeth clean and healthy, minimize oral diseases; enhance the role of schools in educating and disseminating knowledge about oral hygiene for students.

At the examination session, doctors from the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital conducted free dental examinations for nearly 500 students. At the same time, they organized training and guidance on oral health care, and promoted prevention of oral diseases among school-age children for teachers and students; and presented the school with tools such as a set of tooth extraction forceps for children, examination sets, tooth filling sets, and bean trays for the school to prevent oral diseases for students.

According to the plan, in September and October 2024, Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital will coordinate with units to conduct dental examinations, consultations and training for 10 dental schools in the following districts: Dong Anh, Phuc Tho, Ba Dinh, Thuong Tin, Me Linh, Phu Xuyen, Hoai Duc.

Coordinate with the Department of Education and Training of districts, towns and cities to guide and support schools in implementing school dentistry, disseminating knowledge about school dentistry, instructing students on oral hygiene and brushing teeth properly; maintain the quality of the school dentistry model and continue to replicate the model to schools in the city. Support the District, Town and City Health Centers in school dentistry.

It is known that in the coming time, the Hanoi health sector will continue to implement school health work, including health care for students, teachers, and school staff such as: Health check-ups by specialist, assessment of nutritional status for students, first aid, school dentistry, prevention of eye diseases, scoliosis..., to notify families of cases of illness to coordinate referral for treatment.

Organize periodic health check-ups once a year for teachers and school staff, check by specialty and notify the results to those examined; coordinate with functional agencies of districts, towns and cities in Hanoi to inspect and supervise contents related to school health activities, check by assigned topics and fields.
