As a locality that has done a good job of caring for and protecting children in Quynh Phu district, every year Quynh Hong commune seriously implements the directives of superiors on the work of protecting, caring for and educating children.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoa, a civil servant of labor, war invalids and social affairs in Quynh Hong commune, said: The whole commune has 2,755 children, of which 11 are in special circumstances. Determining that caring for children is an important task and responsibility of the entire political system, the locality regularly promotes propaganda, education and mobilization of cadres and people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws related to children. On the occasion of International Children's Day, the commune organizes gift giving for all children attending preschool and children in difficult circumstances. On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the commune directs departments, branches and organizations to organize a Mid-Autumn Festival for children. In the summer, summer activities are organized to create a healthy environment for children to play and develop. Thanks to the good work of protecting, caring for and educating children, in recent years, Quynh Hong commune has had no accidents, drownings and no child abuse.
Not only in Quynh Hong but also many localities in Quynh Phu district have done a good job of protecting, caring for and educating children.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Mui, Deputy Head of the District Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs: In order to create a favorable environment and conditions for children to be cared for, study, play, ensure basic rights and live in a safe environment, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has advised the District People's Committee to issue many documents directing departments, branches, organizations and localities to effectively implement programs for children, in which special attention is paid to caring for and protecting children in especially difficult circumstances. The theme of the month of action for children in 2023 is "Joining hands to minimize harm to children", Quynh Phu district will organize many practical activities, including visiting, encouraging and giving gifts to children in especially difficult circumstances in some communes, children being treated at Quynh Phu General Hospital and Phu Duc General Hospital.

SOS Children's Village Thai Binh is a loving home for orphans and children in especially difficult circumstances. Mr. Nguyen Van Tan, Director of the Village, shared: 100% of children living in the Village are well cared for in terms of nutrition, health, mental activities and skill training. The Village always creates all conditions for children to develop well in terms of physical strength, intelligence and spirit; focuses on building a substitute family environment, ensuring that all children have a real home like other children in society. Every year, the Village proactively develops plans, organizes and implements cultural and spiritual activities, establishes children's clubs, equips life skills, sports, and environmental improvement work. The clubs operate regularly and effectively.
According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the province currently has over 439,000 children, of which 5,485 are in special circumstances. In recent times, the Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to direct the effective implementation of children's work; closely coordinate with departments, branches, districts and cities to organize cultural, artistic and sports activities for children; training activities to equip knowledge and skills to prevent and combat accidents, injuries, drowning and child abuse; deploy models to ensure safety for children. In preparation for this year's month of action for children, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue Plan No. 62/KH-UBND, dated April 28, 2023 focusing on activities for children.
Mr. Bui Van Huan, Deputy Director of the Department said: We are promoting communication activities; training on the implementation of children's rights and child protection. In particular, focusing on disseminating the 2016 Children's Law; Directive No. 18/CT-TTg, dated May 16, 2017 of the Prime Minister on strengthening solutions to prevent and combat violence and child abuse; policies on child protection and care. In addition, organizing activities to mobilize resources, receiving support for the child protection fund to care for children in general and children in special and difficult circumstances in particular.
With the attention of all levels, sectors and the whole society, children will live in a safe, healthy environment with conditions for comprehensive development.
