Mr. Jensen Huang (Hoang Nhan Huan) is on a business trip to Vietnam, in an effort to find opportunities to expand cooperation with leading local corporations in semiconductors and artificial intelligence.

Despite being the founder and CEO of Nvidia Corporation with a market capitalization of more than 1,000 billion USD and personal assets of tens of billions of USD, he still prefers a comfortable and close-knit dressing style.

On the evening of December 9, not long after arriving in Hanoi, Nvidia's CEO took the opportunity to explore Vietnamese cuisine. As an Asian, Eastern dishes are not unfamiliar to Mr. Jensen Huang. However, this director is still very excited about Vietnamese dishes.

He chose a popular sidewalk restaurant on Luong Ngoc Quyen Street, sat on plastic chairs and shared Vietnamese dishes with the staff.

As if he was not satisfied yet, Mr. Jensen Huang stopped by another restaurant on Hang Non Street and ordered a bowl of beef noodle soup. In the chilly weather of Hanoi, the Nvidia CEO slurped down a steaming bowl of pho like many other diners.

Another place that the Taiwanese-American billionaire also visited was Cafe Giang on Nguyen Huu Huan Street. In addition to the long-standing famous egg coffee, the shop also has other delicious egg dishes that attract many international and Vietnamese customers.

After enjoying the restaurant's signature dishes, he happily took photos with the restaurant's staff.

For young people like the staff at Cafe Giang, Nvidia is a famous brand with the world's leading graphics cards, used in gaming computers or specialized for graphic design and image processing.

However, the group founded by Mr. Jensen Huang is strongly shifting to chip production, including chips using artificial intelligence (AI).

In an email to employees last November, Nvidia's leadership announced that the corporation was no longer a graphics company, but had become an AI company.

Promoting and expanding cooperation opportunities with Vietnam and Southeast Asia in AI and semiconductors is also the goal of Nvidia CEO during this business trip.

Before coming to Vietnam, Mr. Jensen Huang visited Singapore and Malaysia, where he promoted Nvidia's ambitions in AI chips and the region's potential in this field.

In Vietnam, Nvidia is a leading server and AI provider, partnering with Vietnam's top technology companies to deploy AI in the cloud, automotive, and healthcare industries.

Nvidia has also signed an agreement with Viettel with the desire to become a partner of Vietnam in the process of improving domestic capacity in AI.

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) is researching and developing a supercomputing system with Nvidia's A100 chip to support the deployment of the latest AI solutions.

Reuters news agency revealed that Nvidia's CEO will discuss semiconductor cooperation agreements with government representatives and leading Vietnamese technology companies on December 11.

Reuters sources also said the meeting would discuss ways to "promote the semiconductor industry" in Vietnam, as well as "Nvidia's potential partnerships with Vietnamese technology companies."

Chipmaker Nvidia is expected to reach a technology transfer agreement with at least one Vietnamese company, an industry source familiar with the preparations for the meeting said.

Vietnam continuously welcomes leading semiconductor enterprises

Shortly before Mr. Jensen Huang’s business trip, a delegation of leading American semiconductor businesses visited and worked in Vietnam. The delegation, led by Mr. John Neffeur, President of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and visited Ho Chi Minh City.

The delegation also included leaders of leading US semiconductor companies, such as Intel, Qualcom, Ampere, ARM,...
