Mr. Pham Nhu Anh, 44 years old this year, was appointed as General Director of MB from May 18, 2023. Previously, Mr. Anh was Deputy General Director in charge of MB's Executive Board.
Mr. Pham Nhu Anh graduated with a master's degree in business administration - UBI Institute of Business Administration - Belgium, bachelor's degree in economics majoring in business administration, University of Economics and Business Administration, University of Danang.

Mr. Anh has nearly 20 years of experience working in the finance and banking industry. At MB, Mr. Pham Nhu Anh has held many professional and management positions in the bank such as branch director, block director, and member of the executive board.
During the period 2007 - 2017, as the director of several branches, Mr. Pham Nhu Anh led the leading branches in the Central and Southern regions. In April 2017, he was assigned the position of Director of Large Customer Block (CIB).
In August 2020, Mr. Anh was appointed as a member of the executive board, in charge of managing business operations of units in the Southern region and the CIB block of MB. These units all grew remarkably and safely, increasing by 2-5 times.
In the third quarter of this year, MB Bank had net interest income of VND10,416 billion, up 6.2% over the same period. Foreign exchange trading brought the bank VND660 billion, 2.9 times higher than the same period. Profit from trading securities reached VND226 billion. Net profit from other business activities increased by 19%, reaching VND678 billion.
However, net profit from service activities in the period decreased by nearly 18% to VND888 billion. In addition, MB's investment securities trading and capital contribution activities reported a loss of VND172 billion compared to a profit of more than VND180 billion in the same period. Total operating expenses in the period increased by nearly 13% and risk provision expenses increased by more than 13%.
MB General Director Pham Nhu Anh continued the trend, bringing a vibrant performance at MB's 30th anniversary celebration.
As a result, MB Bank recorded pre-tax profit of VND 7,308 billion, almost unchanged compared to the same period last year. Accumulated in 9 months, MB achieved pre-tax profit of VND 20,736 billion, up 3.6% over the same period in 2023. Thus, this bank has completed 73% of the annual profit target.
As of September 30, MB's total assets increased by nearly 9% compared to the beginning of the year, reaching VND1,028 trillion. Credit growth in the first 9 months reached 13.5% compared to the same period in 2023 and was 1.8 times higher than the industry average.

MB has just acquired OceanBank Limited Liability Company (OceanBank) in the form of a compulsory transfer. Currently, OceanBank will become a Commercial Limited Liability Company with 100% charter capital owned by MB. MBBank said that it will prioritize resources for business development, capital, technology and human resources to support OceanBank. OceanBank will be restructured with a long-term strategy, careful investment, aiming to become a modern, safe and sustainable bank.
