'Cerberus Esports CEO surprised by 4th grade business thinking'

Teaching logical thinking, critical thinking and presentation skills is essential in the digital age. At BRIS Primary, project-based learning helps students not only learn theory but also have the opportunity to interact with CEOs of large enterprises, providing unique practical experiences that are groundbreaking ideas for primary education.

This is a sharing from Korean-American COO Michael Minsoo Chung of CerberusEsports through a meeting with 4th grade students of BRIS Primary School around the topic of Business that they are learning at school.

This year, Michael Minsoo Chung was one of the important guests who came to share knowledge and practical experience with Bris students.

Access to Business knowledge from elementary school

* After participating in the sharing session on business management, how do you feel about the students' interest and absorption in learning about business through the PBL (Project-Based Learning) method?

- I was really impressed with the excitement and curiosity of the 4th graders in this sharing session. The project-based learning (PBL) method helped them approach business in an intuitive and easy-to-understand way. Although they are young, I saw the creative thinking ability they expressed through their ideas. They tried their hand at cute products such as the project of selling blind bags, umbrellas, and hats.

One of the questions that impressed me the most was when a student asked: "How can I make my product known to others?" One student even suggested using celebrities to introduce their products. Or the question "As a boss, is it right or wrong to comfort and support employees to feel positive when they are sad?". These questions are a sign that the students have independent and deep thoughts for their age.

* How do you feel about the way the school brings Business knowledge in a very easy-to-understand and practical way to primary school students?

- Teaching 4th graders about Business is a new thing and can be considered quite early. However, I was also told by the school that they do not set a goal for students to have a deep understanding of complex concepts. Instead, the goal of this subject is to help students have a deeper perspective on any product or service they come across.

In particular, through the PBL method integrated into Business, students not only learn about how to do business but also learn how to look at the products and services around them from a completely new perspective. They will be curious and ask questions about what they use every day, and will not just stop at "what is this product" but will continue to explore "how this product came to me", "why is it here", or "what factors have contributed to making this product successful".

This helps them develop critical thinking and analytical skills, which will be useful not only in this subject but in every other field they will study in the future. They learn to not only accept information but also question the origins, development processes and hidden factors behind the products around them.

BRIS students' English is impressive

* What do you think about the English skills of the students at your school?

- I am really impressed with your English skills. It is actually better than mine when I was in 4th grade, an American born person. Although you are young, your communication and presentation skills are very confident and convincing.

This is important because in today’s global environment, communicating in English will open up many opportunities for them, not only in their studies but also in their future jobs and start-up projects. I am delighted to see them demonstrate confidence and understanding of a complex subject like Business from such a young age.

* What is your perspective onteaching practical knowledge and skills to students from primary school?

- This is very important. Typically with BRIS students' projects in Business, when they understand that each product has its own story, from product development to marketing strategy, they will gradually develop a creative mindset and constantly learn and explore the world around them. Learning through projects helps them not only understand theory but also develop important practical skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving.

In addition, this also helps students to be better prepared mentally when entering the business environment in the future, because they have a deep understanding of how to operate a real business, instead of just learning through books or theory. They will have a comprehensive view and be ready to face real challenges.
