More than 3,800 conical hats are woven into a nearly 40-meter-high Christmas tree in Dong Nai. Every night, this place becomes a check-in spot that attracts thousands of visitors.
In the last days of the year, the Christmas atmosphere in Dong Nai becomes even more bustling when the conical pine tree at Ha Phat Church (Tan Bien Ward, Bien Hoa City) is officially lit up. Many people and tourists flock here to admire and check-in. Besides the pine tree, many other structures such as the statue of Jesus, the grotto, the bell tower... are also splendidly decorated.
Every evening, at 7pm, the “giant” pine tree, nearly 40m high, made from more than 3,800 traditional Vietnamese conical hats, begins to be lit up.
The conical hats are cleverly arranged around a ton-heavy iron frame to form a sparkling four-story Christmas tree.
The conical pine tree has a maximum width of nearly 15m, then gradually narrows towards the top. The church also tied cables around it to prevent the tree from being knocked over by the wind.
Ms. Lien, a local resident, shared: "I feel very proud to see such a unique Christmas tree appear every year at this church. It is not only beautiful but also very meaningful, attracting tourists from near and far to visit."
Mr. Tuan Anh (living in Ho Chi Minh City) said that this pine tree is different from the trees in shopping malls, looking at it you can see the Vietnamese cultural identity.
"I am really impressed with this tree. It is not only beautiful but also very unique, different from normal Christmas trees. I can feel the sophistication and dedication of the people who created it," Tuan Anh shared.
According to the representative of Ha Phat church, this conical pine tree is lit up throughout the Christmas season, serving the needs of tourists to visit and admire.
This is the 7th year Ha Phat church has decorated its Christmas tree with conical hats. The cost was supported by parishioners.
Every step is done very carefully, all conical hats are connected to light bulbs, ensuring safety and wind resistance.
“The church will keep the tree lit until New Year’s Day. To ensure the safety of the electrical equipment on the tree, the church will turn off the lights for 15 minutes every night to avoid overloading,” a representative said.
