Khac Hung collaborated with Jimmii Nguyen to release the MV "Cay" on April 14. Although the number of views did not explode, it was praised.
Cay talks about "a time when his girlfriend dumped him painfully"
In the song Cay there is a line: "Why does my heart feel dry/ The taste of cigarettes is spicy/ But it doesn't feel as spicy as/ The day you kicked me out".
Jimmii Nguyen said that at first he asked Khac Hung for permission to replace the word "stone" with the word "leave" to make it softer. The reason was "it sounded so naked that even the most famous musicians avoided using it."
However, after recording and listening to it dozens of times, Jimmii Nguyen realized that " The Day You Left Me " was not realistic and did not match the mood of the character in the song.
There are many reasons for "leaving" but "kicking" has only one meaning: being ignored by the person you love, kicking you away for someone else.
Jimmii Nguyen jokingly said, when listening to Cay , "no matter how old or how old, you have to feel and return to your memories: there was a time when your girlfriend dumped you so painfully".
Khac Hung said Cay is both sadness after a breakup and a humorous perspective on life when you are betrayed.
After Khac Hung finished writing, the first singer that came to mind was Jimmii Nguyen, an overseas singer known for the songs Tinh nhu la xa bay, Hoa bang lang, Nho ve em, Tinh xua nghia cu ..., especially Mai mai ben em which was nominated at the prestigious Grammy music award in 1994.
The musician commented that Jimmii Nguyen "was in tune with the song and performed a more perfect version of this song".
As the hit maker behind many hits by My Tam, Min, Duc Phuc, Bao Anh, in this latest product, Khac Hung made a bold experiment when combining bolero and hiphop. Jimmii Nguyen commented that Cay has close, very "real" lyrics. The 9X artist also contributed his voice with the 7X senior singer, making the song have a strong connection in terms of generations.
Previously, EP Keep held the song Binz's song was also praised for its creativity in combining rap and bolero.

Also nostalgic but praised
Not long before Cay , HIEUTHUHAI released the MV Crocodile Tears , with a retro pop color reminiscent of music from the 1990s and 2000s. However, the song and HIEUTHUHAI's voice created opposing opinions, with more criticism than praise.
Spicy also evokes strong feelings of nostalgia but is praised.
"It's bolero style, 8X style, rumba style, funky city pop", "nostalgic music, chill while sitting in a cafe", "nostalgic and emotional song for the 7X, 8X generation", "Good music but doesn't need to be elaborate, just a good melody, hits your ears and it keeps ringing in your head all day"... are comments from the audience on Khac Hung's YouTube channel.
MV Cay
Jimmii Nguyen's voice is both chill and real, just like the new generation of broken heart music. Combining the nostalgic black and white film footage through the hands of Nhu Dang, combined with familiar, dusty scenes of everyday life makes the MV more colorful.
Sharing Cay on his personal Facebook page, Tran Thanh wrote that what he especially admires about Khac Hung is that despite his young age, he not only focuses on making trendy music but also cherishes and supports veteran singers who came before him.
In Cay , Khac Hung has "preserved and spread the great artistic values from legendary and iconic artists like Jimmii Nguyen's voice".
Tran Thanh rated this song as "very cool" and "very artistic".
