The 65 billion bridge was completed but no one passed by. What did the Hanoi Department of Transport say?

On the afternoon of June 30, the Hanoi People's Committee held a press conference to inform about the socio-economic situation in the second quarter.

Responding to the press about the steel arch bridge with a total investment of 65 billion VND across Linh Dam Lake (Hoang Mai District), although it has been put into operation for a long time but has not been used by the people, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Transport Do Viet Hai said that this bridge was built and officially put into operation from the end of 2022.

According to the Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Transport, any project before being put into construction is carefully evaluated by the interdisciplinary team, starting with the survey and traffic flow. For traffic projects, the department always sets the goal of long-term effective exploitation.

At the press conference, Mr. Hai said that the investment in building the bridge is "forecast according to future needs", especially in the Hoang Mai and Linh Dam areas with a forecast of very large population growth in the coming time.

"Therefore, it is necessary to "take the lead" in building an iron arch bridge," said Mr. Hai.

According to Mr. Hai, currently, the Hanoi Department of Transport is regularly reviewing and re-evaluating all projects and traffic works in the city to both organize traffic regulation and improve the efficiency of the works.
