Leicester players clash with Van Nistelrooy.

Midfielder Harry Winks was left out of the squad for Leicester's 0-2 defeat to Man City on April 3rd.

According to The Telegraph , the controversy erupted when Van Nistelrooy asked Winks to change his daily commuting habits. Specifically, the Dutch coach suggested Winks stay at the club's hotel in Seagrave, North Leicestershire, once a week to reduce the 160 km distance he had to travel each day from Hertfordshire to Leicester's modern training ground.

However, Winks declined the request, as he had personal reasons for maintaining his commute from his home and had been doing so since joining Leicester for £10 million under manager Enzo Maresca.

One of Winks' personal reasons is that he recently welcomed his first daughter with his girlfriend Lowri Algar in mid-March. This has made the midfielder even more attached to his family and unwilling to change his familiar lifestyle.

The tension between Winks and Van Nistelrooy was part of the unstable atmosphere at Leicester under the Dutch manager. Previously, players like Jannik Vestergaard also struggled to adapt to Van Nistelrooy's environment.

Winks, a key player for Leicester in the Championship last season, hasn't featured in a Premier League starting lineup since the 0-4 defeat to Everton in early February. Van Nistelrooy, with his demanding standards and performance expectations, is facing opposition from the players, further increasing tensions at King Power Stadium.

Currently, the club based at King Power Stadium is second to last in the league table with 17 points, 12 points behind Wolves in a safe position, with only 8 rounds remaining in the season. This is a consequence of the Foxes' run of 7 consecutive defeats.
