Both Vietnam and Indonesia lost their opening matches of the 2023 Asian Cup. Therefore, the decisive match between the two teams at 9:30 p.m. on January 19 is crucial. Only the winning team has the right to hope to win a ticket to the next round.
President of the Indonesian Football Federation Erick Thohir has urgently instructed the entire team to focus all their efforts to prepare for the match against the Vietnamese team. He called on the entire Indonesian team to learn the patriotic spirit of Coach Troussier's team.
The head of Indonesian football said: "I think the Vietnamese team is a difficult team to play against. Despite having seven injured players, they still led Japan 2-1. However, Japan still won that match because they are on a different level.
Therefore, I ask the whole team not to underestimate the Vietnamese team. One of their strengths is their high patriotism.
This is something that the entire Indonesian team needs to learn from the Vietnamese team when wearing the national team jersey. They need to do their best for the country's flag."
In addition, Mr. Erick Thohir also mentioned the home team's defeat against Iraq. He added: "The players tried their best in the match against Iraq. However, they need to do more. The Vietnamese team can resist strong opponents. Why can't Indonesia do it yet?"
