The program is organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy in collaboration with the Rimini City Government (Emilia Romagna Region), the Italy-Vietnam Foundation, Fulgor Cinema, Fellini Film Library and Museum, and Rotary Clubs in Romagna, Rimini, Rimini Riviera, and Cervia Cesenatico.
The premiere was attended by representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy, Mr. Francesco Bragagni from the Rimini City Council; Ms. Elena Zanni, Director of the Fulgor Cinema; Mr. Marco Leonetti, Director of the Fellini Film Library and Museum; leaders of the Rotary Club; Ms. Maily Anna Maria Nguyen, President of the Italy-Vietnam Foundation; Ms. Le Thi Bich Huong, Secretary General of the Alliance of Presidents of Vietnamese Associations in Italy and President of the Italy-Vietnam Cultural Bridge Association; and a large audience of Italian film enthusiasts and members of the Vietnamese community.
Speaking at the event, Francesco Bragagni, Vice President of the Rimini City Council, said that this was a special event in a special anniversary year, marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Italy. The city of Rimini is honored to be one of the places that further deepens the special friendship between the two countries.
Mr. Marco Leonetti, head of the Rimini Film Library and Museum, emphasized that this is one of the special activities that his organization has been promoting to further strengthen relations between the two sides, especially in cultural and artistic cooperation in the future.
Ms. Elena Zanni, Director of Fulgor Cinema, the venue for this event, also expressed her delight at being the first to screen the film "Jasmine" in Italy. Ms. Zanni stated that Rimini is very happy to be the birthplace of the genius director and international ambassador Federico Felleni, and that the cinema also had a special day screening a film by a talented director and international ambassador of Vietnam, director Dang Nhat Minh.
In his opening remarks at the premiere, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc, Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy, emphasized that this was a highly significant event, marking another step forward in cultural and artistic cooperation between Vietnam and Italy. The event was even more meaningful as it was held in Rimini, the hometown of the late talented director Federico Fellini.
Director Dang Nhat Minh's film " Jasmine Flower" is one of the representative films of Vietnamese cinema in recent times, with content that addresses everyday, simple life, highlighting the most distinctive images of the image, country, and people of Vietnam today.
As part of the Vietnam Year in Italy 2023 activities, from March 2023 to the present, the Vietnamese Embassy has organized the donation of representative Vietnamese films to major regions and cities in Italy, including Rimini, Milan, Turin, Venice, Perugia, and many others.
Sending greetings via screen from Hanoi, People's Artist director Dang Nhat Minh expressed his honor in presenting his new film, " Jasmine," at the cinema and museum named after Fellini, the mentor of world cinema. He hoped the film would be like a "bouquet of flowers carrying the fragrance of Hanoi," a cultural bridge between the Italian and Vietnamese people.
Jasmine is one of the representative films of Vietnamese cinema in recent times. It was also one of the films that participated in the Asian Film Festival held in Rome last May.
Many viewers have shared their appreciation for the content, the artistry, and especially the humanistic messages that the film Jasmine conveys. Soprano opera singer Maria Ielli, who sang the Vietnamese national anthem in Vietnamese at this year's Vietnam National Day celebration, said that the film was very moving and touched the hearts of viewers, leaving many warm memories.
The film Jasmine has given the Italian public and international friends a glimpse into contemporary Vietnamese cinema. Audiences can see that, although still young, Vietnamese cinema has recently undergone a fresh transformation, clearly reflecting the country's development and international integration.
