Ganh Hao Bridge across Ganh Hao River, with an investment capital of more than 650 billion VND, connects Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces, and is expected to be technically open to traffic before Lunar New Year 2025.
Efforts to ensure progress
On November 29, the Management Board of Transport Construction Investment Projects of Ca Mau province announced that the Ganh Hao bridge project has completed more than 82% of the work volume. According to the plan, the bridge will be closed in December 2024 and technically opened to traffic before the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025.
The construction unit is rushing to construct Ganh Hao bridge to open it to traffic before the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, serving the travel needs of people in Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces.
The Ganh Hao Bridge project includes 7 main packages, starting from the second quarter of 2023. Currently, more than 50 engineers, workers, and supervisors are working in shifts day and night to complete the project on schedule. Items such as the closing of spans T8-T9, construction of K14 segment of pier T7 and beam placement on the spans on the banks of Dam Doi district (Ca Mau) and Dong Hai district (Bac Lieu) are being implemented synchronously.
The approach road to the bridge is also in the final stage, with the crushed stone layer preparing to be covered with hot asphalt concrete. In particular, the bridge piers located in the middle of the river are constructed with fresh concrete, mixed from the onshore station and transported by barge to the construction site.
Committed to completing on time
According to Mr. Le Nhat Truong, Deputy Director of the Project Management Board, the contractors have mobilized maximum resources and machinery, working at full capacity with the highest determination.
"Although there were some minor difficulties during the construction process, the basic workload was guaranteed according to the set plan," Mr. Truong shared.
With the close direction of the investor and the efforts of the construction units, the Ganh Hao bridge project is expected to become a new traffic symbol, promoting sustainable development in the southernmost land of the Fatherland.
Fresh concrete is mixed from the onshore mixing station, then transported by barge to the middle of the Ganh Hao River to be pumped onto the bridge piers.
Ganh Hao Bridge has a total length of more than 6km, of which the main bridge is 770m long, 12m wide, and designed to carry HL93. With a total investment of more than 650 billion VND, the project connects the East-West axis, creating a smooth traffic corridor from Song Doc estuary (Ca Mau) to Ganh Hao estuary (Bac Lieu).
When completed, Ganh Hao Bridge will help shorten travel time, meet increasing transportation needs, promote socio-economic development, attract investment and improve people's lives in the southernmost region of the country.
