The hypothetical situation is that an oil spill occurs in international waters, affecting the ecosystem and environment. The emergency response procedure is immediately activated, and all sailors on board are notified to deploy oil spill response tasks.

Coast Guard Ship 8005 of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command and Sumadra Paheredar-ICG 202 of the Indian Coast Guard were mobilized to handle the oil spill. With modern specialized equipment, officers and sailors of the two forces coordinated and synchronously deployed technical work to handle the oil spill according to a scientific and strict process; organized to isolate, handle and thoroughly collect the amount of oil spilled into the sea, completing the assigned task.

During the incident response, two ships of the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Indian Coast Guard received an SOS signal from a ship on fire at sea. Coast Guard Ship 8005 and Sumadra Paheredar-ICG 202 accelerated to the scene, approached the ship in distress, and coordinated to spray water cannons to extinguish the fire.

At this time, the people on the ship in distress jumped into the sea to escape. Discovering people on the sea, the ships quickly determined the coordinates and urgently lowered the speedboat to approach, bring the victims on board, conduct first aid, and stabilize their health.

At the end of the mission, the two ships saluted each other at sea and continued their journey to carry out other missions.

According to Colonel Nguyen Minh Khanh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 3, this is a practical activity for the two countries' forces to exchange and learn about the ability to handle situations and respond to incidents at sea, helping officers and soldiers of the two countries gain more experience; at the same time, practice being proactive, creative, and improve their organizational and command capacity in performing assigned tasks.

Previously, the Indian Coast Guard's Sumadra Paheredar-ICG 202 ship arrived in Ho Chi Minh City during its visit to Vietnam from April 2 to April 5.

According to Brigadier General Sudhir Ravindran, Head of the Indian Coast Guard Delegation, this is an opportunity for both sides to exchange, learn and share practical experiences in law enforcement at sea. Thereby contributing to strengthening the friendly relationship, cooperation, understanding and mutual trust between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Indian Coast Guard in the coming time."
