Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" La Gi town in 2023

At the conference, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thai Anh provided fishermen with necessary information on the provisions of Vietnamese law (according to the 2017 Fisheries Law; Decree No. 42/2019/ND-CP regulating administrative sanctions in the field of fisheries. In particular, propaganda about the Vietnam Coast Guard, prevention and combat of IUU fishing , mentioned many problems that fishermen often encounter such as illegal fishing , unreported fishing, not following regulations ... This is a program within plan 5348/BTL-CT of the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 .

Colonel Nguyen Minh Khanh encouraged fishermen to stick to the sea but at the same time comply with the provisions of the law.

Accordingly , the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" took place with many practical activities: Propaganda and gift giving to families with preferential policies and fishermen in difficult circumstances ; Contest "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" ; Free medical examination and care for families with preferential policies and poor fishermen ; Organizing the presentation of national flags and medicine cabinets to local boat owners .

On this occasion , the delegation visited and presented 100 gifts (1 million VND/gift) , 300 national flags to policy families and fishermen in difficult circumstances , and presented 2 medicine cabinets to 2 fishing boat owners.

Giving gifts to policy families and fishermen in difficulty

Within the framework of the program, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 also coordinated with Hung Vuong Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City to organize free medical examinations, medicine distribution, health consultations and gifts for 300 people who are policy families and fishermen in difficult circumstances in the area.

Along with social security activities, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 also coordinated with the Party Committee and La Gi Town to organize the final round of the "I love my homeland's sea and islands" contest with the participation of 100 students from 10 secondary schools in La Gi Town. The Command of Coast Guard Region 3 also presented 10 bicycles and 100 scholarships (500,000 VND /scholarship ) to poor students who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies in the area.

This is the 6th time the Civil Affairs Program "Coast Guards Accompany Fishermen" has been organized by the Coast Guard Region 3 Command in Binh Thuan province. The Coast Guard Program Accompanying Fishermen is an activity expressing the affection and responsibility of officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard in general, and the Coast Guard Region 3 Command in particular, towards families of policy beneficiaries, ethnic and religious people, fishermen, and students in difficult circumstances in coastal areas.
