Rating slightly decreased
HBO's "The Idol" is a drama that has been attracting the attention of audiences recently. THR reported on June 13 that the second episode aired on June 12 recorded 800,000 viewers. This number decreased by about 12% compared to the 913,000 viewers in the premiere episode on June 4.

THR believes that the reason "The Idol" episode 2's rating dropped is because it aired at the same time as the Tony Awards - an award that honors outstanding Broadway productions.
Additionally, "The Idol" episode 1 recorded record ratings thanks to being broadcast on both HBO Max (online video streaming service) and HBO cable channel. Meanwhile, episode 2 was only broadcast on HBO - a channel with an older audience.
However, the rating achievement in episode 1 has made "The idol" rise to the top of the online TV drama chart in terms of interaction level, even surpassing other series on many long-standing platforms such as Netflix and NBC.
This achievement is not much different from some other series of the channel such as: "The white lotus" (944,000 people), "Winning time" (901,000 people), "Euphoria" (1.1 million people).
THR commented that in the coming time, the audience of the show "The idol" will increase with each episode following the general trend. "Winning time" and "Euphoria" reached an average of more than 6 million views per episode by the end of the season.
The controversy has no end
Episode 2 of "The idol" titled Double Fantasy has many unpredictable details. In this episode, the motives and personalities of the characters are gradually revealed, of course, there are many hot scenes.
Jennie's (BlackPink) appearance in "The idol" episode 2
Just like in episode 1, Jennie (BlackPink) still didn't have much screen time and only appeared in two scenes. However, this time, the two scenes with her appearance left a memorable impression, making viewers curious and discussing the true role of the character Dyanne.
In this episode, Dyanne is targeted by record label executive Nikki (Jane Adams) to replace female lead Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) after failing to complete a music video shoot.
Known as a talented dancer, Dyanne did not miss the opportunity to showcase her singing voice and eventually successfully convinced Nikki to let her complete a solo recording.
"The Idol" episode 2 also revealed that Tedros is not only a bar owner but also the leader of a cult. Tedros used a remote-controlled electric device to force Izaak (Moses Sumney) to perform seductive moves on the women lying around.
Tedros is hatching a mysterious plot and Dyanne is a card he holds in his hand.
The Weekend and Lily-Rose Depp star in the film
As for Jocelyn, after being frustrated by the music video shoot not going as expected, she called Tedros and invited him to her house. At this time, Tedros asked Jocelyn if he could bring a few friends along and soon after a sex-filled, drug-fueled party took place at Jocelyn's house.
Tedros took Izaak and a woman to Jocelyn’s house. After greeting her, the woman who was with Tedros immediately stripped off her clothes and jumped into the pool. She has been naked ever since.
Tedros with Jocelyn or Izaak with Jocelyn's assistant and best friend Leia (Rachel Sennott) then have many daring sex scenes.
According to Variety, the second half of episode 2 contains full nudity, sexual dialogue and some X-rated action.
The episode ended when The Weeknd faced a wave of criticism from the public. Page Six recorded some unpleasant comments from the audience: "I will never look at The Weeknd the same way again after "The idol""; "The Weeknd is such a pervert"; "I didn't expect Abel (The Weeknd's real name - PV) to be rated X like that"...
