At the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year, the demand for jobs increases, making it easy for many people to fall into the trap of recruitment scams.
Recruitment scams are getting more and more sophisticated.
In addition to the tricks of "easy work, high salary" that appeal to candidates' greed, nowadays, scams are becoming more and more diverse and sophisticated, making it easy for many people to "fall into the trap".
Hanoi police said that recently, the city has seen a rise in impersonating banks to recruit employees. Accordingly, scammers will ask victims to participate in experiencing bank projects, then lead the victims to invest to appropriate assets.
Recruitment scams are increasingly diverse and sophisticated.
According to the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), one of the common tricks used by scammers is to ask candidates to pay money to take the exam, buy study materials or pay unclear fees with the reason of "guaranteeing admission" and then ask candidates to transfer a certain amount of money, or participate in a lottery program... Then they disappear or continue to ask for more money.
In addition, many scammers impersonate large businesses to approach their “prey”. They use email content and websites with neat domain names, making it difficult for candidates to distinguish between real and fake. The recent development of AI applications that help create realistic and easier text and images also poses a great threat in recruitment fraud.
When someone applies for a job, the impersonator will invite the candidate to join groups on platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, Telegram, Whatsapp, Workplace Chat, Lotus Chat... and then lead them to perform tasks of depositing money under the name of testing and assessing their abilities. Many victims have lost from several hundred thousand dong, several million, even tens or hundreds of millions of dong.
Workers need to be extremely vigilant when looking for a job to avoid "falling into a trap".
Be careful to avoid recruitment scams
Not only are workers struggling, but banks and businesses are also having headaches because of misunderstandings, leading to loss of reputation and quality candidates.
Therefore, experts and businesses recommend that workers need to be extremely vigilant when looking for and applying for jobs, and take the following preventive measures to avoid falling into the situation of "losing both money and health":
– Only access the official recruitment website or link published by the recruiting unit.
– Absolutely DO NOT access links, files, or social networking sites received or introduced by strangers.
– Absolutely DO NOT transfer money or pay any fees during the recruitment process.
– DO NOT provide scanned or original copies of identification documents, provide bank account information, passwords, payment cards or OTP codes sent to the phone.
– When noticing suspicious signs, employees should ask the company for an interview appointment address, contact the employer directly from the official website.
– Proactively protect personal devices with anti-virus software and contact the job posting website to report and receive support.
Best regards!
