Beware of fake electricity employees

Recently, in Kon Tum province, there has been a situation of impersonating electricity employees calling people to collect electricity bills and requesting to provide/follow instructions... the situation is becoming more and more complicated with many sophisticated tricks. Kon Tum Electricity Company (PC Kon Tum) has warned customers to avoid being scammed.

Accordingly, PC Kon Tum recommends that people need to be extremely vigilant, do not provide: documents, personal information, make friends on Zalo, access strange website links; scan QR codes or log into bank accounts on strange apps; do not transfer electricity bills to personal accounts; do not install strange applications on phones,...

Many people from Dak Ha, Sa Thay, Kon Ray districts... called local power companies to report receiving calls claiming to be Kon Ray Power Company employees informing them that they had not paid their electricity bills (in fact, these customers had paid).

The subjects asked people to send documents related to electricity payment such as: transaction documents, payment receipts..., and instructed them to connect Zalo to the technical department for inspection.

Local power units have directed staff to notify customers about the situation of impersonating power employees through Zalo chat groups of some villages, and at the same time send posts on social networking sites to warn.

PC Kon Tum does not ask people to provide any other information.
