Beware of the trick of impersonating social insurance officers of Quang Tri province to commit fraud

According to information from Deputy Director of the Provincial Social Insurance, Dao Cong Tuan, recently, the Provincial Social Insurance has received information from people and employees about some subjects pretending to be Social Insurance agency officers calling and texting to ask people to synchronize their CCCD data, update information on the VssID application - Social Insurance number... to take advantage of and defraud participants and beneficiaries of Social Insurance, Health Insurance, and Unemployment Insurance policies in many different forms.

Accordingly, many people in Trieu Phong and Vinh Linh districts have proactively reported to the district Social Security about the situation of continuously receiving many calls requesting to provide CCCD numbers to update VssID. The callers all spoke with a Northern accent, introduced themselves as people from the provincial Social Security, informing that social security records needed to synchronize CCCD data and requested to go to the provincial Social Security agency to update the information.

To ensure the safety of personal information of workers and people, to avoid being exploited and scammed by bad guys, on August 20, 2024, Quang Tri Provincial Social Insurance issued a notice to departments, branches, sectors, unions, People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, units participating in social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, service organizations collecting information for workers and people in the area to heighten the spirit of vigilance. Accordingly, it is recommended that people should not make friends via Zalo, not click on strange links, especially not provide OTP codes, social insurance codes, VssID passwords to strangers to avoid being exploited by bad guys.

Currently, the Social Insurance of Quang Tri province and the Social Insurance of districts and towns do not have a policy of calling or texting employees and people to update information on the VssID application or on the data being managed. In the process of implementing administrative procedures related to social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, people and participating units should directly contact the nearest Social Insurance agency or perform on the National Public Service Portal, the Vietnam Social Insurance Public Service Portal, or on the VssID application - Social Insurance No.
