(HNMO) - On June 18, Da Nang City Police widely informed to warn people about the existence of some new methods and tricks of property fraud.
The first is the trick of forging documents of agencies and organizations; using fake documents of agencies and organizations in the execution of contracts for buying and selling motorbikes. Recently, Da Nang City Police have discovered many of these cases.
Specifically, the subjects colluded with each other to legalize motorcycle and motorbike purchase and sale contracts, authorization contracts with fake certifications from the People's Committee and local police, with the purpose of legalizing documents for transferring ownership and registering motorcycles and motorbikes.
Using many different methods and tricks, the subjects have made and sold about 2,000 documents to many other people to legalize the transfer of ownership and registration of used motorbikes and scooters in many provinces and cities across the country to commit many scams with losses ranging from several million to billions of VND (certified without information of the seller, buyer and other information).
The second is the method of fraudulent appropriation of assets through borrowing, luring and enticing to contribute capital for investment. Accordingly, taking advantage of the psychology of borrowers who are often subjective, partly because they trust friends, colleagues or neighbors, so they do not check whether the reasons given by the lenders are correct or not, but directly carry out procedures for lending money, contributing capital for profitable investment.
On the other hand, scammers often build trust in their victims in many different ways such as: Borrowing and paying back on time many times, or providing information with high profits to appeal to the greed of lenders and investors (policy information about projects, but the subjects do not participate in those projects, and do not have the right to buy, sell or transfer those projects).
The subjects using this trick often paint a picture of a quick profitable investment. Or when investing in real estate together, the subjects often say that they will be the ones to put their names on the property and then sell the property to someone else to appropriate the investment capital of the victims. After receiving the money from the loan, investment, the subjects use it for personal purposes, pay off debts... and then flee.
The police agency determined that the above-mentioned acts of the fraudsters and property appropriators caused tens of billions of dong in damage to the victims, leading to insecurity and panic among the people and negatively affecting social order and safety.
Da Nang City Police recommend that those who lend money or contribute capital for investment must verify the information in advance and closely check whether the reasons given by the subjects are correct or not before carrying out procedures for lending money or contributing capital for investment in accordance with the law... If there is an incident of fraud or appropriation of property, it is necessary to immediately report it to the nearest police agency.
