Informing Thanh Nien reporter, Ms. N. Chau, a parent of a kindergarten student in District 12 (HCMC), said that yesterday afternoon, April 20, she received a phone call from a person claiming to be a civil status officer of the ward and informing her that the identification code of the child about to participate in the primary school entrance exam was missing. Then, the parent was asked to update the information according to the link provided by this person. However, the parent of the student mentioned above had performed the steps to verify the information on the primary school entrance exam page according to the teacher's instructions, so she was cautious and did not follow the instructions.

The Board of Directors of Dong Khoi Secondary School (District 1) recorded that there were cases of people impersonating school directors and calling parents of students with the reason of "requesting confirmation of level 2 identification codes for students" to serve the work of early-level enrollment.

Therefore, the Board of Directors of Dong Khoi Secondary School posted an announcement on the fanpage with the following content:

"Recently, there have been cases of people impersonating school principals and calling parents of students with the excuse of 'requesting confirmation of level 2 identification codes for students' to serve the work of primary school enrollment.

These subjects ask parents to provide personal information through strange links, leading to the hijacking of bank accounts, e-wallets and causing financial losses.

Therefore, to protect the rights of students and their families, Dong Khoi Secondary School informs parents as follows:

All information related to primary school admissions will be announced through the school's official channels such as the website, messages from homeroom teachers or school admissions officers.

At the same time, it is emphasized that the school absolutely does not ask parents to provide personal information via calls or links of unknown origin.

Parents need to be vigilant, do not provide personal information, bank accounts or perform any operations following instructions from unclear calls or messages, to avoid being scammed.

Parents of students carry out the enrollment registration process on the portal managed by the Department of Education and Training.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training warns

In response to the emergence of fraudulent impersonation cases related to primary school admissions, speaking with Thanh Nien reporters on the morning of April 21, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, affirmed that all localities of Ho Chi Minh City conduct online primary school admissions at a single information portal with the address tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn .

Accordingly, parents of students perform the operations of confirming information, registering for admission, and looking up admission results for grades 1 and 6 at the above admission information portal according to the instructions of the homeroom teacher and the school where their children are studying.

For 6-year-old children who have not yet attended preschool, the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, districts and towns directs the People's Committees of wards and communes to coordinate with the police of wards and communes to collect and review information about the actual residence of children, update the list on the system and notify parents to confirm. Parents are absolutely not required to fill in the form or follow any other information update link.

All information related to primary school enrollment will be clearly communicated to parents in writing by localities and schools, according to the plan of the Department of Education and Training. Up to this point, Ho Chi Minh City has also completed the review of primary school enrollment data. Parents need to be vigilant, not provide personal information, bank accounts or perform any operations following instructions from unclear calls or messages, to avoid being scammed.

Admission timeline to note

From May 24-29 : Departments of Education and Training and schools will guide and organize for parents to register for primary school admission to schools that organize special programs, including:

The school implements high-quality, advanced, regionally and internationally integrated programs; The school implements integrated English training programs according to Project 5695; The school implements enhanced French training programs; Nam Saigon Primary, Secondary, and High Schools (grades 1 and 6) and other schools with special models in the education system.

From May 30 to June 4 : The Department of Education and Training reviews and announces the enrollment results of schools that organize special programs. At the same time, synchronize data to the city's primary enrollment page.

From June 5-8 : Schools with special programs will receive applications and guide parents to confirm online at the city's admissions page.

From June 9-13 : Based on students submitting applications to schools organizing special programs, and reviewed data received from the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Education and Training analyzes, adjusts, and allocates students to preschools, primary schools, and secondary schools that enroll students, depending on the actual situation in the locality.

From June 14-20 : Instruct and organize for parents to confirm application submission to the remaining high schools according to data updated by the Department of Education and Training on the city's enrollment page.

During this time, parents can also register as subject 2 or private school.

From June 21-25 : The Department of Education and Training will consider students who have registered for category 2 and update data on the city's admissions page. The Department of Education and Training will send the list of students who have confirmed their enrollment to the remaining high schools. The schools will receive applications and guide parents through the enrollment procedures.

From June 25-29: Parents access the primary school admission system to view the results of group 2 and confirm admission. Schools organize to receive candidates admitted to group 2.
