The provincial Hydrometeorological Station has just issued a drought warning in Binh Thuan. Accordingly, in the next 10 days, the total capacity of reservoirs in the province will reach about 55 - 60% of the design capacity. Therefore, it is warned that areas not supplied with water from the irrigation system in Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac districts, Phan Thiet City, Ham Thuan Nam, and La Gi need to pay attention to prevent local drought affecting crops.
Specifically, the information said that from March 1 to 10, 2024, the water level on the Ca Ty River at Phan Thiet station fluctuated due to the influence of tides. On the Luy River at Song Luy station and on the La Nga River at Ta Pao station, the water level and flow changed little and decreased slowly; on other rivers and streams, the water level changed little. Regarding the reservoir situation, as of 7:00 a.m. on March 10, the total capacity of the reservoirs was 686.25/1,137.96 million m3, reaching 60.0% of the design capacity, of which Ca Giay Lake, Song Dinh 3 Lake and Ta Mon Lake were approximately at the dead water level. The Hydrometeorological Station forecast that there would be no rain in the coming days. From March 10 to 20, the water level on the Ca Ty River at Phan Thiet station fluctuated due to the influence of tides. On the Luy River at the Luy River station and on the La Nga River at the Ta Pao station, the water level and flow change little and decrease slowly. On other rivers and streams, the water level changes little.
