Việt NamViệt Nam11/03/2024

The Provincial Hydrometeorological Station has just issued a drought warning for Binh Thuan province. According to the warning, over the next 10 days, the total water volume in reservoirs in the province will reach approximately 55-60% of their designed capacity. Therefore, areas not supplied with water from the irrigation system in the districts of Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Phan Thiet City, Ham Thuan Nam, and La Gi need to take precautions to prevent localized drought affecting crops.

Specifically, the information indicates that from March 1-10, 2024, water levels on the Ca Ty River at the Phan Thiet station fluctuated due to tidal influence. On the Luy River at the Song Luy station and on the La Nga River at the Ta Pao station, water levels and flow remained relatively stable and decreased slowly; water levels on other rivers and streams also remained relatively stable. Regarding reservoirs, as of 7:00 AM on March 10, the total reservoir capacity was 686.25/1,137.96 million m³, reaching 60.0% of the designed capacity, with Ca Giay, Song Dinh 3, and Ta Mon reservoirs nearing their dead water level. The Meteorological and Hydrological Station forecasts no rain in the coming days. From March 10-20, water levels on the Ca Ty River at the Phan Thiet station will fluctuate due to tidal influence. On the Luy River at the Luy River station and on the La Nga River at the Ta Pao station, water levels and flow rates have changed little and decreased slowly; on other rivers and streams, water levels have changed little.
