Can Tho awarded the Political Essay Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation to 55 works

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tam - Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee said that the 2nd Political Contest on Protecting the Ideological Foundation of the Party of Can Tho City in 2024 was launched in early March 2024.

After launching and organizing the Contest, the Organizing Committee received 2,074 works from cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers in departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations of the City; lecturers, students, and trainees of universities, colleges, the City Political School, and District and equivalent Political Centers; members, teams of experts, secretaries, and collaborators of Steering Committee 35 at all levels; officers, cadres, and soldiers of the armed forces; cadres, reporters, editors, and collaborators of local press and media agencies; and members and youth of youth organizations in the City and districts.

The number of works participating in the 2nd Competition this year increased by 874 works in all categories compared to 2023 (in 2023 there were 1,173 works).

The jury evaluated the works through two preliminary and final rounds. Accordingly, the preliminary round selected 262 works for the final round. Through the final round, the jury selected 55 works in various categories to award prizes, including: 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 15 third prizes, and 25 consolation prizes.

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City affirmed that the success of the Contest is an important highlight in the implementation of Resolution No. 35 of the Politburo, demonstrating the attention and direction of Party committees at all levels, of Steering Committees 35 of localities, agencies, units, the response of Party members and people; affirming that Resolution 35 of the Politburo has truly come into life, being implemented synchronously, creatively and effectively by all levels, sectors and localities. Thereby, it shows that the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation is not only the task of specialized forces but also the responsibility of the whole society and of each individual.
