At the launching ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - called on trade unions at all levels to effectively implement policies and laws on child care, education, and protection, and to care for children of workers working in industrial parks and export processing zones in difficult circumstances.

Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee and representative of the sponsor presented scholarships to children of union members in difficult circumstances at the launching ceremony.

In addition, promote innovation in propaganda, dissemination, legal education, knowledge, and skills to implement children's rights; propaganda on prevention, support, intervention, and handling of child abuse cases, prevention of child violence in families and schools, prevention of child injuries, especially drowning and traffic accidents; prevention and reduction of child labor contrary to the provisions of law; protection of children in the online environment.

In addition, trade unions at all levels need to mobilize authorities, agencies, units and enterprises to actively support scholarships, books and learning tools to give to students who are children of workers in difficult circumstances; coordinate with authorities to organize recreational, entertainment, cultural, artistic and sports activities, creating a healthy and useful playground for children of workers at the unit.

“Let us show our love and practical concern through concrete and effective actions. Let the message “Listen to children with your heart, protect children with your actions” permeate people’s awareness,” Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai shared.

On this occasion, Hoa Hao General Hospital - Medic Can Tho and the leaders of Novaland Group supported 100 bicycles and 100 scholarships (each worth 500,000 VND) with a total value of 200 million VND to give to poor students who are children of union members and city workers with especially difficult circumstances.

Students who are children of city workers participated in the launching ceremony on the morning of June 1.

In order to spread the message of “Practical action, prioritizing resources for children”, the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children among workers this year highlights the role and responsibility of the trade union organization in mobilizing agencies, units, and enterprises, and mobilizing workers in the city to respond and join hands to take care of students who are children of union members and workers who overcome difficulties and study well in the city. From there, encourage and motivate their spirit, create conditions to help them strive to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
