To serve the construction of large projects in the province, many households in Cam Lo district have agreed to hand over land and have been allocated land in resettlement areas. However, the infrastructure in these areas is still not complete, causing difficulties for households in their daily life.

3 resettlement areas in Cam Lo district, including: Cam Hieu commune resettlement area, Cam Thuy commune resettlement area and Cam Tuyen commune resettlement area with a total area of nearly 16 hectares, are the new residences of 131 households located within the area of land clearance for the construction of the North-South expressway project in the East, Van Ninh - Cam Lo section. Up to now, people in the resettlement areas have gradually completed their houses and living facilities. However, the fact that infrastructure items such as electricity, water, and roads are not yet synchronized has made people's lives very difficult.

In accordance with the province's policy, Mr. Le Van Vang's family handed over their house and land to serve the site clearance work for the construction of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway and moved to the Cam Hieu resettlement area to build a new house. Mr. Vang said that for nearly 2 months, although the house has been gradually completed, his family has encountered difficulties due to the lack of electricity and water. "My family is one of the 10 families that moved to the Cam Hieu resettlement area the earliest.

However, up to now, we have encountered many inconveniences, mainly due to the lack of electricity and clean water for daily use. Currently, well water can only be used for building houses and cannot be drunk because it has a strong muddy smell. On average, my family uses 2 20-liter water bottles a day, spending 600,000 - 700,000 VND per month on domestic water.

Not to mention there is no electricity, we have to bring electricity from the construction site, which can easily cause short circuits, fires, and is not safe. My family really hopes to receive attention from the local government to soon complete the electricity and water infrastructure for the resettlement area, helping my family settle down and make a living," Mr. Vang confided.

That wish is not only of Mr. Vang's family but also the common concern of many households building new homes in resettlement areas in Cam Lo district.

At the resettlement area of Cam Tuyen commune, Mr. Hoang Kim Long expressed his concern that the housing project is about to be completed and put into use, but the electricity, clean water, and traffic items are still not completed. “Here, the electric poles have been erected but not yet connected; the clean water system is said to have just been surveyed and has not yet been implemented.

The most important thing is the road, which is dug up, filled in, and repaired every few days. This not only affects traffic but also cracks the walls and damages the houses under construction of the households,” said Mr. Long.

In response to the people's feedback, Quang Tri Newspaper reporters spoke with Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Director of the Cam Lo District Land Fund and Industrial Cluster Development Project Management Board, to learn more. It is known that, implementing the North-South Expressway Project in the East, Van Ninh - Cam Lo section, up to now, the construction of resettlement areas in the district has basically been 80% completed.

The Board is focusing on directing construction units to mobilize human resources, machinery, and equipment so that when the infrastructure in the resettlement areas is completed, they will continue to construct electricity and water supply items. "Up to now, the items in the resettlement areas have been basically constructed, such as the electricity items have dug the foundations and erected pillars; the water system has been completed within the resettlement areas.

However, there are still some difficulties such as in Cam Thuy resettlement area, the main water supply system runs on the highway's access road, which is in the process of site clearance; in Cam Hieu resettlement area, after working with the Road Management Department II.5, the committee advised the district People's Committee to issue a document requesting to change the route. After the province agrees, we will quickly complete the procedures to continue supplying water and electricity to the people in June," Mr. Phuong informed.

It can be seen that ensuring adequate land allocation for resettlement needs, as well as related benefits, is an important factor for people to trust and agree with the policies of the Party and State, creating favorable conditions for site clearance to serve investment projects in the coming time.

Therefore, local authorities need to pay attention and urge construction units to soon complete the infrastructure of resettlement areas, helping people soon stabilize their new housing, contributing to the development of their homeland.
