Intervening in a traffic dispute, the Deputy Director of a security company fired a shot into the air.

On the afternoon of February 5, Duc Hoa District Police, Long An Province, said they had reported the incident of a man holding a gun and shooting into the air in a public place with many people passing by to Long An Provincial Police.

This person's name is Vo Chi Thanh (48 years old), residing in Hamlet 1B, Huu Thanh Commune, Duc Hoa District, currently the Deputy Director of Binh Duong Hoang Gia Bodyguard Service and Hospital Company Limited.

According to the authorities, the gun that Mr. Thanh used to shoot into the air was an RG88 rubber bullet gun, number RCG20401632. This gun is a support tool that the company provided to Mr. Thanh and was licensed for use by the competent authorities.

The act of using a licensed support tool but not in accordance with the provisions of law. This act violates Point e, Clause 211, Decree No. 144/2021/ND-CP dated December 31, 2021; the fine ranges from VND 2,000,000 to VND 5,000,000.

Huu Thanh Commune Police are consolidating the records to impose penalties according to regulations.

Previously, at around 3:00 p.m. on February 4, a traffic collision occurred on the inter-hamlet road in Hamlet 1B, Huu Thanh Commune. A tourist car with license plate 51K-879.95 driven by Mr. Hong Duc Thinh (residing in Hamlet 1B, Huu Thanh Commune, Duc Hoa District) collided with a motorbike with license plate 54P6-0465 driven by Mr. Huynh Van Ut (residing in Xuan Khanh Hamlet, Hoa Khanh Nam Commune, Duc Hoa District).

Although the collision was light, the two sides did not reach an agreement but argued loudly on a road about 3 meters wide, causing traffic obstruction.

At this time, Mr. Vo Chi Thanh was passing by this area and was also stuck in traffic due to the argument. Mr. Thanh and the people around tried to stop it but were unsuccessful. Realizing that the situation was urgent and needed to stop the fighting, Mr. Thanh went to his motorbike and took out a RG88 rubber bullet support gun, then fired a warning shot into the air, asking both sides not to fight and cause disorder.
