Other dangerous, emerging epidemics are still being recorded in many places around the world such as: Nipah disease in India, Influenza A (H5N1) in Cambodia, Influenza (H1N2) in the UK, MERS-CoV in the Middle East; respiratory infections are increasing in some countries.
To proactively detect and control infectious diseases entering our country, the Department of Preventive Medicine recommends that the Centers implement a specific content:
Regularly update information on infectious diseases in the world that are at risk of entering our country to proactively apply monitoring and prevention measures right at the border gate;
Strengthen close monitoring at border gates to promptly detect, isolate and promptly handle suspected and infected cases, especially during the Lunar New Year and festival season in our country.
At the same time, develop and update the process of implementing medical quarantine activities at each border gate based on the provisions of Decree No. 89/2018/ND-CP dated June 25, 2018 of the Government guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases on border medical quarantine and current professional and technical instructions.
Review and update contingency plans to respond to epidemic situations at each border gate, including plans and scenarios for epidemic prevention and control during the Lunar New Year, noting that the plan requires the participation and coordination of functional agencies at the border gate and local health agencies.
Closely coordinate with the Border Gate Management Board and relevant units to develop plans and propose a list of facilities and equipment to serve regular medical quarantine activities and in case of an epidemic, submit to competent authorities for approval according to the instructions in Circular No. 17/2021/TT-BYT dated November 9, 2021 of the Ministry of Health;
Closely coordinate with the Institutes of Hygiene and Epidemiology/Pasteur to organize training and provide technical support for staff working in medical quarantine.
Continue to strictly implement the reporting of medical quarantine information according to the provisions of Circular No. 28/2019/TT-BYT dated October 28, 2019 of the Ministry of Health guiding the reporting of medical quarantine activities...
