According to the plan, the Ho Chi Minh road section from Chon Thanh to Duc Hoa is a 6-lane highway with a designed speed of 100 km/h. The first phase is invested with a scale of 2 lanes. |
The project is 72.75km long, starting at the border area of Chon Thanh town (Binh Phuoc) and Bau Bang district (Binh Duong province); ending at the intersection with National Highway N2 (now Ho Chi Minh Road, Duc Hoa district, Long An province). |
The contractor is determined to strive to open the technical traffic before April 30, 2025 and complete the entire project in August 2025 (4 months shorter than the contract schedule). |
The Ho Chi Minh Road project, Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section has 6 bridges including Phuoc Hoa Canal, Cay Truong, Ba Tu, Thi Tinh, Suoi Tre, and Thanh An. Of which, Thanh An Bridge is over 600m long, the longest bridge on the Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa route that has been completed. |
Currently, 5 out of 6 bridges have completed the bridge deck, the road section has basically completed the ground construction, and is constructing the road surface foundation of all kinds and asphalt concrete pavement. |
Ho Chi Minh Road, Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section is invested to connect Ho Chi Minh Road from Pac Bo, Cao Bang province to Dat Mui, Ca Mau province, contributing to sharing traffic volume with roads along the Southeast region. |
The Ho Chi Minh Road project started in 2009; however, in 2011, the project was suspended according to Resolution No. 11 of the Government and Directive No. 1792 of the Prime Minister. After 12 years of suspension, the project was restarted from the end of 2023 to continue completing unfinished construction items, avoiding wasting the invested state capital, contributing to connecting the entire Ho Chi Minh Road. |
