(Dan Tri) - A section of Hanoi highway was renamed Vo Nguyen Giap Street to honor the General's great contributions to the struggle for national liberation and reunification.

Of which, the Hanoi Highway section from Saigon Bridge to Thu Duc intersection has been renamed Vo Nguyen Giap Street, with a length of nearly 7.8km. Renaming a section of Hanoi highway to Vo Nguyen Giap street is to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap in the cause of fighting for national liberation and unification. In addition, the renaming will form a route through the Hanoi - Vo Nguyen Giap - Dien Bien Phu highway. The route will create a connection between historical events and historical figures. Since August 23, Hanoi Highway has been officially named Vo Nguyen Giap Street. This event is even more meaningful as it takes place on the 112th anniversary of General Vo Nguyen Giap's birth (August 25, 1911 - August 25, 2023). In addition to the developed infrastructure, along Vo Nguyen Giap Street there are many impressive decorative shapes and landscapes on both sides of the road. The tree system running along Vo Nguyen Giap Street creates shade, helping people traveling on this street in the hot sun to stop and rest. Parallel to Vo Nguyen Giap Street is the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro project No. 1, which is expected to test the entire route on August 29 (Photo: Hai Long).
