The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just agreed on a pilot plan to organize services and serve night tourism on Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and the park area on the east bank of the bridge as proposed by the Department of Tourism.
Nguyen Van Troi Bridge crosses the Han River, connecting Hai Chau and Son Tra districts.
Specifically, in phase 1 (2024), Nguyen Van Troi bridge and the park area will organize a number of activities such as: lighting decoration to create check-in points; photo exhibitions and displays of specialized products and works periodically every quarter and on holidays and Tet.
In particular, this area will host performances of folk music, lyrical music, street dances, flashmob events, yoga festivals, street art, book festivals, beer festivals...
Also according to the plan, the Nguyen Van Troi bridgehead area will also have fast food services, take-away drinks and souvenir products.
From 2025 to the end of 2028, this area will have more business booths, souvenir shops, OCOP products, mobile carts and stalls serving refreshments and fast food... On weekends and holidays, there will be special events and festivals at the northern yard or southern yard of the east bank park and on Nguyen Van Troi bridge.
Nguyen Van Troi Bridge was built in 1960 with an architecture of 14 Poni steel truss spans, total length of 513.8m, 8.5m wide roadway, no sidewalk for pedestrians.
Nguyen Van Troi Bridge is the first road bridge across the Han River.
The People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the People's Committee of Son Tra District to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Culture and Sports to develop a detailed plan and roadmap to ensure timely implementation and compliance with regulations on related issues such as sidewalk use, use of public assets, construction permits, performance permits, implementation costs, and management apparatus...
Nguyen Van Troi Bridge was built by the American contractor RMK in 1960 and completed in 1965. In 1978, the original wooden bridge deck was removed and replaced with a reinforced concrete structure. In 1996, the bridge deck was replaced with steel plates to reduce weight because the foundation structure had weakened over time.
In 2012, Nguyen Van Troi Bridge stopped operating. In 2013, through the renovation process, the bridge was designed with the additional function of being able to raise and lower for boats to pass and serve the walking, playing, and sightseeing needs of residents and tourists.
Nguyen Van Troi Bridge will raise and lower the middle span once a day on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, between 4pm and 6pm.

Nguyen Van Troi Bridge has 4 lifting jacks with a lifting capacity of 100 tons per jack, lifting speed of 0.233m/minute. The lifting stroke is 3.6m high, the length of the lifted navigation span is 36.45m.
Nguyen Van Troi Bridge has recently become a unique check-in spot for tourists when coming to Da Nang.
Up to now, the renovation, maintenance, operation of the span lifting and lighting system of Nguyen Van Troi Bridge have been completed, just waiting to be put into service for the people and tourists. Da Nang City hopes that this will be an attractive night entertainment spot, attracting tourists, creating an impressive highlight for night tourism.
