Continuing to bring Xa Doai oranges, a specialty of Nghe An province, on flights is an activity within the “Agricultural Road” program of Vietnam Airlines, aiming to promote Vietnamese cuisine in the most authentic way through every touch point in the cultural and tourism experience of customers. Vietnam Airlines passengers will enjoy famous specialties as a greeting from all over the country.

In terms of culture, bringing domestic products to an altitude of 10,000 meters is the way the national airline connects aviation products with traditional cuisine, contributing to enhancing the value of Vietnamese brands in the eyes of domestic passengers as well as international friends. It is also a "point" to create a bridge of cooperation between businesses and localities and accompany farmers to bring regional specialties to global diners. To bring quality oranges to passengers, Vietnam Airlines applies a strict selection, inspection and supervision process from harvesting to preservation, processing and serving on board.

Cam Xa Doai has long been famous for its cool aroma, sweet taste, juiciness and few seeds. Located in a fertile valley surrounded by limestone mountains (Thung Bung village, Mon Son commune, Con Cuong, Nghe An).
Thien Son orange farm has cultivated and improved 60 hectares of Xa Doai orange varieties according to Global GAP standards. This orange variety is extracted from disease-free Xa Doai oranges, processed according to advanced technical processes and brought to grow in Thung Bung village - a place that has never actively grown any industrial or agricultural crops.
By 2023, Thien Son Xa Doai Orange Farm has officially started harvesting, and the oranges from the first harvest season have officially appeared in Vietnam Airlines meals.

World Travel Awards has voted Vietnam Airlines as the “World’s Leading Cultural Airline 2023”. The airline has made its mark with its constantly renewed in-flight menu, imbued with regional flavors, including local fruits and specialties such as Hung Yen longan, Son La plum, Luc Ngan lychee (Bac Giang), Cao Phong orange (Hoa Binh)… and now Xa Doai orange, bringing a “new breeze” to meals and making in-flight experiences more delicious, interesting and meaningful for passengers.
Mr. Trinh Xuan Giao - owner of Xa Doai orange farm said that this is a great pride of his hometown and he will continue to strive to have orange farms that meet global quality standards.
