Cam Pha: Diverse experiences to attract visitors

Coal tourism, new experiences at sea or developing the night economy… are products that Cam Pha City is promoting. These are positive movements to diversify experiences, attract and retain tourists.

As a city located on the shore of Bai Tu Long Bay, Cam Pha has many resources for tourism development. How to orient and develop tourism is something that Cam Pha is interested in. Sharing about this issue, Mr. Pham Van Kinh, Vice Chairman of Cam Pha City People's Committee, emphasized: Tourism development is a key task, a key point to transform the development method from "brown" to "green". In particular, Cam Pha focuses on promoting typical products, strengthening connections... to exploit the strengths of sea tourism, resort tourism with its own identity.

Located next to the beautiful Bai Tu Long Bay, Cam Pha City is interested in innovating traditional products and expanding space to the South.

Accordingly, Cam Pha has soon paid attention to and encouraged businesses to invest in renewing traditional products, creating a certain attraction from here: Vung Duc cave adds new space, increasing the attraction of Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh, experience Luong Ngoc and Quang Hong beaches with new landscapes, artistic lighting effects, serving tourists to take photos, experience... To develop new tourism products, Cam Pha promotes the expansion of tourism space to the South, renewing 1 route (Cam Pha City - Hon Xep Park) combined with route 4 (Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long) advised by the Department of Tourism to build. At the same time, promote the survey and realization of 3 new routes: Cam Pha City to Ong Cu Island and visit the islands around the city; Cam Pha City - Ban Sen (Van Don) - Luong Ngoc Beach - Vung Duc - Ong Cu Island - Reu Island - Cua Ong - Tay Hoi Island; Cam Pha City - Minh Chau, Quan Lan (Van Don)... Expanding space, Cam Pha plans and focuses on implementing experiences in marine farming areas associated with tourism development; accelerating investment in 3 anchorage points towards overnight stays on Bai Tu Long Bay.

Renewing traditional products and creating new spaces helps make many products more attractive to tourists coming to Cam Pha.

Creating unique and distinctive products, the city is interested in promoting tourism products related to the Coal industry, such as: Bao Than relic, Coal Museum (at the headquarters of Cam Pha City Party Committee), in which the tourism product of visiting Uncle Ho's relic site to visit Deo Nai mine is registered to develop a new product with the province in 2024. Accordingly, the city is coordinating with the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group to study the project of restoring the relic site of the crossroads to Deo Nai mine (focusing on the Traditional Fire-Keeping House project), connecting relics managed by the Coal industry, open-pit coal mining sites for tourists to learn about coal tourism products, such as: 12/11 Square, Crossroads to Deo Nai mine, Vung Duc relic and scenic area, Pooc Tich 1 Bridge - Anti-aircraft artillery site - command bunker of Cua Ong Coal Selection Enterprise... All aim to create products with unique identity, in the direction of converging miner culture. In fact, Cam Pha has deployed the product "Miner's Night Street" since 2022, creating cultural beauty, highlights, contributing to the development of the night economy. At the same time, the city also focuses on creating different products with competitive advantages, associated with local strengths, such as successful live stage art programs on the shore of Bai Tu Long Bay; games, experiences on the beach, exploiting the night walking street, Bai Tu Long TTP beach... In April 2024, Cam Pha City People's Committee coordinated with the Department of Tourism, Ha Long Cruises Tourism and Trade Joint Stock Company to bring TUI Musement Group (with major cruise lines such as: Meinchift Cruises, Alida Cruises, MSC Cruises) and related units to survey local tourist destinations and products to connect and create tourist tours. Including a boat tour from Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long, visiting Vung Duc cave, going back by car to experience the coastal road from Cam Pha - Ha Long...

Many units and businesses are interested in surveying the beautiful scenery and untapped potential of the beautiful islands in Bai Tu Long Bay.

In addition, the city also focuses on creating conditions for businesses to upgrade accommodation facilities, invest in high-end resort locations and projects in the future, such as: High-end hot spring urban, service and tourism area in Quang Hanh ward; Cua Ong ecological urban and tourism area; Bai Tu Long urban and tourism service area in Cam Thanh and Cam Binh wards... Although many contents are still being gradually realized, changes in tourism experiences and services in Cam Pha are gradually creating attraction for tourists. In the first 6 months of this year, Cam Pha tourism welcomed 838,000 visitors, reaching revenue of 495 billion VND...
