Cam Pha: Diverse experiences to attract tourists.

Coal tourism, new experiences at sea, and the development of the night-time economy are some of the products that Cam Pha City is promoting. These are positive developments aimed at diversifying experiences and attracting and retaining tourists.

Located on the shores of Bai Tu Long Bay, Cam Pha possesses abundant resources for tourism development. The direction and development of tourism is a key concern for Cam Pha. Sharing his views on this matter, Mr. Pham Van Kinh, Vice Chairman of the Cam Pha City People's Committee, emphasized: Tourism development is a central and priority task aimed at transforming the development model from "brown" to "green." In particular, Cam Pha focuses on promoting unique products and strengthening connections… in order to exploit the strengths of its distinctive beach and resort tourism.

Located next to the beautiful Bai Tu Long Bay, Cam Pha City is focusing on innovating traditional products and expanding its business space to the south.

Accordingly, Cam Pha has proactively encouraged businesses to invest in renovating traditional products, creating a certain appeal from there: adding new spaces to Vung Duc cave, increasing the attractiveness of Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh, and offering new landscapes and artistic lighting effects at Luong Ngoc and Quang Hong beaches, serving tourists for photography and experiences… To develop new tourism products, Cam Pha is promoting the expansion of tourism space to the South, renovating one route (Cam Pha City - Hon Xep Park) in combination with route 4 (Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long Bay) which the Department of Tourism has advised on building. At the same time, it is promoting the survey and realization of three new routes: Cam Pha City to Ong Cu Island and visiting surrounding islands; Cam Pha City - Ban Sen (Van Don) - Luong Ngoc Beach - Vung Duc - Ong Cu Island - Reu Island - Cua Ong - Tay Hoi Island; Cam Pha City - Minh Chau, Quan Lan (Van Don)... Expanding its space, Cam Pha plans and focuses on developing marine aquaculture experiences linked to tourism development; accelerating investment in 3 mooring points aimed at overnight stays in Bai Tu Long Bay.

Revitalizing traditional products and creating new spaces helps many products become more attractive to tourists visiting Cam Pha.

To create distinctive and unique tourism products, the city is focusing on promoting tourism products related to the coal industry, such as the Coal Mine Historical Site and the Coal Museum (located at the Cam Pha City Party Committee headquarters). Among these, the tourism product of visiting the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site at the Deo Nai mine is registered as a new product with the province in 2024. Accordingly, the city is coordinating with the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group to research a project to restore the historical site at the intersection leading to the Deo Nai mine (with a focus on the Traditional Fire-Keeping House project), connecting historical sites managed by the coal industry and open-pit coal mining sites to allow tourists to learn about coal tourism products, such as: 12/11 Square, the intersection leading to the Deo Nai mine, the Vung Duc Historical and Scenic Area, Pooc Tich 1 Bridge - the anti-aircraft artillery position - the command bunker of the Cua Ong Coal Sorting Enterprise… All of this aims to create products with a unique identity, reflecting the culture of the miners. In fact, Cam Pha has been implementing the "Miners' Night Street" product since 2022, creating a cultural highlight and contributing to the development of the night economy. At the same time, the city is also focusing on creating unique products with competitive advantages, linked to local strengths, such as the successful live stage performances on the shores of Bai Tu Long Bay; beach games and experiences; developing night pedestrian streets and the Bai Tu Long TTP beach resort… In April 2024, the Cam Pha City People's Committee coordinated with the Department of Tourism, Ha Long Cruises Tourism and Trade Joint Stock Company, and brought in TUI Museum Group (which includes major cruise lines such as Meinchift Cruises, Alida Cruises, and MSC Cruises) and related units to conduct surveys of local tourist destinations and products to connect and create tourism routes. These include a boat tour from Ha Long Bay to Bai Tu Long Bay, a visit to Vung Duc cave, and a return trip by car experiencing the coastal road from Cam Pha to Ha Long...

Many organizations and businesses are interested in surveying the scenic beauty and untapped potential of the beautiful islands in Bai Tu Long Bay.

Furthermore, the city is also focused on creating favorable conditions for businesses to upgrade accommodation facilities and invest in high-end resort projects in the future, such as: the high-end hot spring resort and service urban area in Quang Hanh ward; the Cua Ong ecological urban and tourism area; the Bai Tu Long tourism and service urban area in Cam Thanh and Cam Binh wards… Although many aspects are still being gradually realized, changes in tourism experiences and services in Cam Pha are gradually attracting tourists.
