At this time, every day Ms. Ngo Thi Xuan (Huong Do commune, Huong Khe) sells about 100 kg of oranges.

According to traditional markets, fruit and agricultural product stores in Ha Tinh city, at this time, oranges "made in Ha Tinh" are available on the shelves and are chosen by many customers.

Ms. Ngo Thi Xuan (Huong Do commune, Huong Khe) - a vendor selling oranges on Chinh Huu street (Ha Tinh city) said: "I started importing and selling oranges produced in Ha Tinh regions for about a month. We selected and cut oranges from gardens in Huong Do and Huong Thuy communes. Currently, I sell about 100 kg of oranges per day at a price of 20,000 - 25,000 VND/kg. In the middle of the season, sales will reach about 200 - 300 kg/day".

Buying oranges at Vuon Uom market, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (Nguyen Du ward, Ha Tinh city) shared: “My family all love eating oranges, so every year when the oranges ripen, I always choose oranges for the whole family to enjoy. It’s just the beginning of the season, but I find oranges very delicious. With a price of 25,000 VND/kg, it’s quite cheap compared to many other fruits. Moreover, each season has its own products, so I feel more secure choosing seasonal products grown locally.”

The common price of oranges on the market today ranges from 20,000 - 50,000 VND/kg.

According to traders, although these are the first ripe oranges of the season, the outside has not turned dark yellow, but the oranges are sweet and fragrant, so many customers buy them for themselves and as gifts. The price of oranges in traditional markets is commonly from 20,000 to 30,000 VND/kg. At many clean agricultural stores, oranges from gardens grown according to VietGap standards, grown organically, with OCOP stamps are priced at about 40,000 to 50,000 VND/kg.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan - owner of Phuong Loan fruit shop (Xuan Dieu street, Ha Tinh city) said: "The shop has started selling Ha Tinh oranges and lemons for about 3 weeks now. The oranges are cut from gardens in Vu Quang, Huong Khe, ensuring quality. The oranges are just at the beginning of the season but are very sweet, so they are popular with customers. On average, I sell 4-5 quintals per day, both retail and wholesale to customers in other provinces and cities, the highest price is 40,000 VND/kg. In previous years, at peak times, the shop consumed up to 1 ton of oranges per day."

With an area of ​​10 hectares, Mr. Doan Quoc Hoai (Quang Tho commune, Vu Quang) expects this year's orange output to reach about 100 tons.

In the growing areas, gardeners have started harvesting oranges since early October. Mr. Doan Quoc Hoai - Director of Cam Hoai Luan private enterprise (Quang Tho commune, Vu Quang) said: “With an area of ​​10 hectares, this year, we estimate the output to reach about 100 tons of oranges. Currently, oranges have entered the harvest season, we have cut and sold about 3 tons at a price of 50,000 VND/kg. Oranges are grown organically, ensuring quality, so they are trusted and chosen by many customers. Currently, we mainly pack goods to send to customers in the provinces and import to sell to clean food stores in Nghe An and Ha Tinh”.

Cam Vu Quang displayed a booth at the Conference on trade promotion and consumption of products of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Ha Tinh in 2023, which took place on October 23.

In the Huong Khe growing area, with the famous Khe May orange brand, gardeners have also entered the harvest season. According to data from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Huong Khe district, this year, the whole district has more than 1,700 hectares of oranges for harvest, with an estimated output of over 16,600 tons, an increase of more than 100 tons compared to last year.

According to information from the Ha Tinh Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection, the province currently has more than 7,237 hectares of oranges, of which 6,234 hectares are for harvest. This year's orange output is estimated at nearly 68,538 tons. Traders and gardeners said that the orange and lemon harvest season will last until around the Lunar New Year. In the coming days, when the main season comes, oranges will ripen en masse, and consumption is expected to be higher.

It is known that in order to support people in promoting and enhancing the brand value of Ha Tinh oranges, the industry and trade sector and related agencies and localities have connected with large distribution units to bring Ha Tinh oranges to supermarkets and clean food stores; supported gardeners and cooperatives in applying digital transformation and selling via e-commerce... It is expected that in November, the 6th Ha Tinh Orange and Typical Agricultural Products Festival will also be held.
