Through six outstanding films ranging from drama to comedy, many of which have won awards at prestigious film festivals, the Festival will portray modern Italian society facing new challenges, while also trying to connect with and maintain its long-standing traditions.
Six films were presented at the festival, including Hummingbird by director Francesca Archibugi, Diabolik by directors Antonio Manetti and Marco Manetti, September by director Giulia Louise Steigerwalt, Diabolik Gingko Attack by directors Antonio Manetti and Marco Manetti, Leonara by director Paolo Taviani and The Return of Casanova by director Gabriele Salvatores.
Notably, many of these directors have won important awards in world cinema or at major film festivals.
All screenings (in Italian with English and Vietnamese subtitles) will start at 7:30 p.m. at Room 4, National Cinema Center (87 Lang Ha, Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
The organizers said that after each film screening, there will be a question and answer session with the Artistic Director of the Asian Film Festival, Antonio Termenini.
Also within the framework of the Film Festival, on November 30, Casa Italia held a talk on “International Film Festivals - the making process and behind-the-scenes stories” with Artistic Director Antonio Termenini and famous Vietnamese film critics and film directors.
