A store employee discovered the gold bowl missing from display around noon today at a gold exhibition on the eighth floor of the Nihombashi branch of the Takashimaya department store and reported it to police about 15 minutes later, according to Kyodo News.

The bowl is displayed in a clear plastic box with no lock.
CCTV footage shows a man in his 20s or 30s taking the golden bowl and putting it in his backpack at around 11:40 a.m. on April 11 (Japan time). The perpetrator was wearing glasses and a sweatshirt, according to police.
Police are still searching for the perpetrator, according to Kyodo News.
