Commune authorities intervened early.
Although the harvest season has not yet begun, the authorities of lychee-growing communes have proactively coordinated with specialized agencies to promote lychee consumption for farmers.
Since mid-April, Thanh Tan commune has coordinated with the provincial Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection to organize a conference connecting businesses and production units to promote lychee consumption in 2025. The event was attended by 5 businesses, 48 growing areas, 8 lychee export packaging facilities and a number of agricultural material trading units in the district.
At the conference, Thanh Tan commune officials provided detailed information on the fabric production process that ensures VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, meeting the requirements of demanding markets such as Japan, the US, Europe, Malaysia, and China.
Mr. Cao Van Cuong, Chairman of Thanh Tan Commune People's Committee, said that this year, the commune has closely coordinated with Thanh Ha District Agricultural Service Center to monitor the growing areas, especially the lychee export areas. People are instructed on production techniques according to safety standards, using the right type of pesticides, at the right dose, and strictly following the quarantine period of 35-40 days before harvesting the lychees.
Also in April, the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Duong province invited representatives of Menas Company Limited (Ho Chi Minh City) to survey and sign a contract in principle with Production Team No. 10 in Thanh Son commune to consume lychees. This year, Thanh Son commune proactively guided people to access e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Postmart. After signing the contract, the locality actively promoted and directed farmers to cultivate clean lychees in accordance with regulations.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of Thanh Quang Commune People's Committee, said that in about a month, lychee will enter the early harvest season. Farmers are focusing on care and spraying the last batch of pesticides to ensure the quarantine period before harvest.
Proactively change consumer mindset

Taking advantage of the power of technology, many lychee growers in Thanh Ha not only carefully attach QR codes to lychees to help trace their origins, but also learn how to make videos and introduce their products on social networks. “In the past, people only relied on traders. Now that we have social networks like Facebook, Zalo, and Tiktok, we can promote ourselves. We can both introduce our lychee gardens and attract buyers everywhere,” said Quach Thi Phuong in Thanh Tan commune.
The cooperative has also proactively linked with people to put lychees on e-commerce platforms for sale. Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, Director of Thanh Quang Commune Agricultural Service Cooperative, said that although the government has supported output for many years, farmers must proactively market and sell their lychees if they want them to sell at a good price. The cooperative has brought its products to the clean agricultural supermarket system and promoted communication on digital platforms.
"Social networks are turning lychee growers into "digital citizens", helping to promote quickly and save costs. An attractive video can spread to tens of thousands of people in just a few hours," said Mr. Hien.
The ecotourism model in the lychee orchard season in Thanh Ha has also been developing strongly in recent years, attracting thousands of visitors to the beautiful lychee fields in Thanh Quang, Thanh Tan, Thanh Son and Thanh Ha town to visit and experience the lychee harvest. In the lychee orchards, visitors are also guided by the locals in the cultivation process, creating a unique garden tourism space. Thereby contributing to promoting Thanh Ha lychee to people in the country and the world, encouraging people to preserve and enhance the value of traditional crops.
In 2025, Thanh Ha district is expected to harvest about 35,000 tons of lychee, of which 1,750 tons will be exported to Japan, the US, and Australia; 21,000 tons to the Chinese market and 12,250 tons for domestic consumption through e-commerce platforms, cooperatives, and small businesses.
