Speaking to VOV reporters, the leader of the People's Committee of Cao Bang City, Cao Bang Province confirmed that on the morning of October 2, all 12 primary schools in Cao Bang City simultaneously stopped organizing lunch for students. Last weekend, parents were also informed by the school to stop lunch from October 2 and asked to pick up and drop off their children on time.

Mr. Vu Van De, Vice Chairman of Cao Bang City People's Committee, said that this morning the city had a meeting to understand the concerns of schools as well as teachers of primary schools.

The reason teachers at all schools discussed the regulations with primary schools that do not require teachers to look after children at noon. Secondly, it comes from the idea of raising the support level according to the Resolution of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Council to a higher level to meet the efforts of teachers in looking after children at noon.

The city will immediately mobilize teachers to continue performing their duties according to the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council. The recommendations will be accepted and submitted to competent authorities for consideration.

In previous school years, with the content of "Children Management", students who had lunch at school were still charged an average of 150,000 VND/month by schools from their parents. However, Resolution No. 41/2023 dated July 13, 2023 of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Council stipulates that from the 2023-2024 school year, the fee for this content cannot exceed 75,000 VND/month at the primary level, which is half of the previous years.

The fact that boarding schools have stopped has made parents worried, because the closing times of noon and afternoon classes at schools are earlier than the closing times of agencies and offices.

Ms. Hoang Thi Nguyet, a resident of Cao Bang city, shared: " Schools close at 11am, while parents' offices only close at 11:30am, during that time no one will look after their children. Meanwhile, no office agrees to let them leave before 11:30am to pick up their children. It is very difficult for both the children and their parents. That is on a sunny day, and it is even more difficult on a rainy day.

We really want our children to go back to boarding school. The 75,000 VND/month is too low, so we can balance it out. We just hope our children can go back to boarding school to ensure their health."
