NDO - Recently, the Vietnam University and College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network (VNEI) and the Canadian Association of Colleges and Universities (CICan) signed a cooperation agreement to promote innovation activities.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung, General Director of BK Holdings, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Vietnam University and College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network (VNEI), and Mr. Alain Roy, Vice President of the Canadian Association of Colleges and Universities (CICan), on November 6, at the headquarters of the CICan Association (Ottawa, Canada), signed a cooperation agreement to promote innovation activities between VNEI and CICan.
The agreement focuses on promoting technology transfer between organizations in Vietnam and Canada to address climate change issues; supporting the development of policies at educational institutions to apply and turn research into practical solutions; and developing a Canada-Vietnam Innovation Hub to promote sustainable and practical cooperation and knowledge transfer.
At the signing ceremony, the two sides expressed their desire to promote member organizations to participate in cooperation in training, education and innovative startups within the scope of their functions and tasks on the principle of mutual respect and support.
CICan is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that represents Canada’s largest post-secondary education network. CICan represents more than 120 member institutions in the public sector of colleges and universities. CICan works closely with local businesses and communities to provide students with the skills they need to succeed in today’s increasingly global labour market.
VNEI was established under the auspices of the National Innovation Center (NIC) with the goal of connecting and strengthening close cooperation between organizations with the same functions and tasks of supporting and promoting innovation and startups in universities and colleges to carry out innovation activities in training, research, knowledge transfer, and technology transfer to develop comprehensive capacity for schools.
Currently, VNEI brings together more than 70 universities and colleges across the country, focusing on implementing many practical activities to enhance the role and representative capacity of its members. VNEI also strengthens and expands international cooperation, promoting its pioneering role in the field of Innovation and the university sector.
