Leading US semiconductor companies including Intel, Ampere, Marvell, Cirrus Logic, Infineon, and Skyworks are paying a working visit to Vietnam from December 10-11.
On the afternoon of December 10, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. John Neuffer, President of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), and leaders of the country's leading semiconductor enterprises. SIA currently gathers a network of member enterprises that account for 99% of the US semiconductor industry's revenue, of which two-thirds are foreign semiconductor enterprises.

Mr. John Neffeur visited Vietnam twice in January and October 2023. This time, SIA organized a delegation of leading US semiconductor businesses, including Intel, Ampere, Marvell, Cirrus Logic, Infineon, and Skyworks to visit and work in Vietnam from December 10 to 11.
Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung suggested that SIA promote cooperation and support among member enterprises to help Vietnam become a global center for semiconductor human resources.
SIA Chairman John Neuffer affirmed that Vietnam is an important and attractive destination for investors. He also highly appreciated Vietnam's initiatives and efforts in developing the semiconductor industry, especially the development strategy and training program for at least 50,000 semiconductor engineers.
Vietnam has also made a lot of progress, especially in diversifying and developing the supply chain. In particular, advantages such as Vietnamese people being the world's most industrious workers, building important infrastructures such as electricity, water, telecommunications, data centers, etc.
The SIA Chairman affirmed that Vietnam is very important and increasingly important to the US semiconductor industry, in the strategy of SIA enterprises. He will return to Vietnam many times and will continue to promote and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Investment fund of over 500 billion USD considers Vietnam an "extremely attractive" place
On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. David Petraeus, co-owner of KKR Investment Fund. Currently, KKR has invested more than 2 billion USD in Vietnam through corporations and companies such as Masan, Vinhomes, Equest, KiotViet, etc.
During his second visit to Vietnam and meeting with the Prime Minister, Mr. David Petraeus wished to continue promoting cooperation between the two sides.
The Prime Minister suggested that KKR Investment Fund continue to expand investment and cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises, especially in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, building an innovative startup ecosystem, digital transformation, renewable energy, etc.
Mr. David Petraeus shared that Vietnam has become an extremely attractive place for investment.

Mr. David Petraeus highly appreciated the factors that make Vietnam an "extremely attractive" place for investment, such as political stability, good security and order, rapidly improving infrastructure, and peaceful, friendly, and cooperative relations with other countries.
In particular, the emphasis on education and training, teaching English as a second language, has many advantages compared to neighboring countries. Many investors have recognized these factors and more and more American investors will come to Vietnam.
Congratulating Vietnam on the very positive agreement with NVIDIA to build important infrastructure in the future of technology, the co-founder of KKR Fund also assessed that Vietnam is on the right track in its relationship with the US. According to him, Vietnam is a country where KKR needs to do more and will do more.
