The military recruitment will take place in the next few days, Tran Thi Phuong Thao (24 years old, living in Huynh Cong Dong village, Trung Nam commune, Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province) is one of the new recruits.

After graduating from the University of Agriculture and Forestry (Hue University), Thao was hired as a manager at a large farm in Binh Phuoc province, with an income of about 18 million VND/month. This is a dream salary for a girl from Quang Tri, so every month Thao sends her younger sister Tran Thi Thu Thuy (a student at the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue) 4 million VND and her parents in the countryside. However, after working for half a year, in October 2023, Thao informed her family and expressed her wish to join the army. The family only has 2 daughters, so Thao's intention to join the army initially surprised her parents. When her family supported her, Thao immediately wrote a volunteer application to join the army and sent it to the local Military Command. By the end of January 2024, Thao received an order to call citizens to join the army. "I'm still young, I want to join the army to test myself, train and fulfill my duties as a citizen," Thao shared.

Also joining the army this time, in Vinh Linh district, there are 2 more female recruits, Le Thi Kim Oanh (23 years old, from Hien Thanh commune) and Luu Thi Ngoc Ha (23 years old, from Vinh Long commune). Leaving the university in June 2023, Oanh applied to work at a law office in Hue. However, when she heard about the 2024 military recruitment, Oanh boldly asked her family for permission to register for military service.

During this year's military recruitment season, for the first time, Huong Hoa district has a female citizen volunteering to join the army from the Pa Ko ethnic minority, that is Ho Ha Bao Thuong (22 years old, living in A Xoc Lia village, Lia commune). Born into a family with a revolutionary tradition, her father was a border guard, since childhood Thuong was very proud and wished that one day she would become a soldier serving in the armed forces.

The young girl was eligible to join the army and serve as a police officer. When she received the call to join the army, Thuong was very excited because her dream was about to come true and considered this a sacred duty, so she strived to fulfill her assigned tasks well to become more mature. When she learned that Thuong volunteered to join the police, her parents often encouraged her to go with peace of mind and train to complete her tasks at the unit.
