New Year's Eve art program organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City in Udon Thani province, Thailand
On the morning of the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, Meritorious Artist Director Phan Quoc Kiet - Director of Tran Huu Trang Theater announced the results of the tour from February 8 (29th of the Lunar New Year) that he led in Udon Thani province, Thailand.
This is a tour to serve overseas Vietnamese living in Thailand on the occasion of the nation's traditional New Year.
"With the approval of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the art troupe chaired by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, visited and performed for a large number of overseas Vietnamese in Udon Thani province - Thailand.
This is a regular activity, organized annually based on the request of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand and the wishes of Vietnamese people living far from the Fatherland.
The trip has great significance, demonstrating the deep concern of the Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City government for overseas Vietnamese. At the same time, the performances are also considered a spiritual gift from the city's artists, helping overseas Vietnamese ease their homesickness and celebrate the traditional New Year happily and warmly," Mr. Phan Quoc Kiet shared.
Many overseas Vietnamese audiences came to watch the show in Udon Thani province, Thailand.
Participating in this year's program are famous artists in the fields of: Cai Luong, music, magic, etc. such as: People's Artist Ta Minh Tam, Meritorious Artist Quoc Kiet, Meritorious Artist Le Hong Tham, Artist Dien Trung, Artist Le Thanh Thao, singer Thuy Trinh, magician Tran Dung, beautiful dancers of the Viva group... The program has many attractive and captivating performances praising the country, homeland, praising the good traditions and customs of the Vietnamese people.

Besides bringing the flavor of spring to overseas Vietnamese, the program is also an opportunity to remind people of culture and national origins to raise awareness of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people.
People's Artist Ta Minh Tam shared that this is the second time he has come here to perform for overseas Vietnamese, and each time he is very happy to receive the warm love of overseas Vietnamese living in Thailand.
"I am touched to see that our overseas Vietnamese, although living far away from their country, still always turn to their homeland with deep feelings. I am very happy to see them build a good life in this second homeland and make very practical contributions to their country, especially in times of trouble and difficulty" - People's Artist Ta Minh Tam said.
The audience listened attentively to the spring melodies brought by artists from Ho Chi Minh City to Udon Thani, Thailand.
Young singer Thuy Trinh emotionally said, "This is the first time I have performed away from home during Tet. I feel very warmly welcomed by overseas Vietnamese. The most impressive image is that overseas Vietnamese audiences were moved to tears when listening to the soulful melodies of the nation, evoking nostalgia for the homeland during the traditional Tet holiday of the Fatherland."

Meritorious Artist Le Hong Tham, artists Dien Trung and Le Thanh Thao (Tran Huu Trang Theater) all excitedly shared their joy. For them, this was the first time they performed in Thailand and introduced the art of Cai Luong theater to overseas Vietnamese and international friends.
Famous excerpts from reformed opera and cheerful modern songs with good values of Southern folk culture have been welcomed by overseas audiences.

The tour will end on February 14 (the 5th day of Tet). Through cultural exchange activities, it will create more emotional ties among the great national unity bloc, including overseas Vietnamese joining hands for a prosperous Vietnam, for a developed, civilized, modern, and affectionate Ho Chi Minh City.
