Recently, the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi organized a workshop "Launching Bachelor's training majors in Business Administration and Career Orientation", creating a special Academic - Connecting - Inspiring space.
The program was attended by leaders of state agencies, representatives of businesses, high schools in Hanoi, professional organizations and a large number of parents and students - those interested in their future studies and careers.

Essential skills to help students thrive in the digital age
At the workshop, Dr. Do Tien Long - Director of OD Click Management Consulting Company said that when entering the business world, students should not be afraid of changes in technology, or global economics and politics. On the contrary, they need to develop the quality of "daring" to take responsibility and face challenges.
Nowadays, due to social mobility, Gen Z students are relatively reluctant to interact with older people. However, each business usually gathers 3-4 generations: Baby Boomer, Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z, so young people often find it difficult to integrate into the corporate environment. To build good relationships with colleagues and improve work productivity, Gen Z needs to be able to adapt to the working environment.
Dr. Do Tien Long added two important skills that new graduates need to have: mastering technology and acquiring and cultivating knowledge. If they possess these qualities, students will quickly adapt to the job.
HR Director of the Northern region, PNJ Ha Thi Bich Thuy, acknowledged that human resource management is a mandatory requirement for businesses. In the past, very few human resources were needed to manage employee records, but now, human resource management has changed to become strategic human resource management that closely follows the company's strategic business goals.
"Students pursuing this major should set goals from the beginning. Training is necessary and businesses are focusing on skills such as analyzing human resource data and using human resource management software well. Internal communication skills and brand development are also valued by businesses," said the PNJ Human Resources Director.

From a business perspective, Director of MISA Hanoi Office, MISA Joint Stock Company Ha Thanh Lua stated that society is always moving and changing. In addition to grasping basic knowledge, students need to constantly renew themselves and practice applying popular technologies.
Ms. Lua gave an example: MISA has collaborated with the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi to create opportunities for students to practice using data while still in school. Finding a mentor in the industry, such as a teacher or senior, will help students have a more specific and clear direction.
AI has no emotions, it can hardly replace students
At the workshop, prestigious experts and entrepreneurs shared about career opportunities, necessary skills and development trends in each field. Digital transformation, multi-channel marketing, human resource management in the AI era, or sustainable tourism development are the topics that received much attention.
According to Le Group Chairman and representative of the Vietnam Sales and Marketing Directors Club (CSMO) Le Quoc Vinh, in the future, the marketing communications industry will only have room for the top 5% of people, the rest of the work will be for AI. However, in this race, the factors that AI cannot replace are the ability to make decisions, the ability to empathize and convey human emotions.
"Students need to learn how to apply AI, turning it into an assistant to support humans. It is necessary to focus on basic principles to build a solid foundation, develop the ability to connect and serve human emotions. Today's marketing human resources cannot only know how to write press releases, run numbers on technology platforms, but need to know how to find comprehensive solutions," affirmed the Chairman of Le Group.
Vinalink CEO, representative of Vietnam Marketing Communications Club (VMCC) Vu Trung Hiep informed that the report on the business picture of the Sales and Marketing industry in the US showed that employment has decreased for 4 consecutive months, with an average of 200,000 job opportunities lost per month. Only 5-10% of the most talented people can survive in the advertising industry.

However, the business picture needs a broader perspective. Mr. Hiep emphasized that AI cannot replace humans in conveying emotions. It is knowledge, theory, and fundamental science that create sustainable technological breakthroughs, while trends only come and go.
"Building creativity on a solid foundation not only helps students avoid following 'fleeting' trends, but also creates sustainable competitiveness," said Vinalink CEO.
With a lot of expertise in the field of tourism and hotel management, Dr. Nghiem Bao Anh, Marketing Director, 5-star Aquamarine Cam Ranh Resort, assessed that AI can only replace those who refuse to change, update themselves, develop skills and knowledge.
In modern society, technology (in general) and AI (in particular) have participated in many stages in the process of implementing hotel and tourism services. After the Covid pandemic, the customer base has gradually shifted from international to domestic.
"Fresh graduates need to have a solid grasp of knowledge and practical foundations to apply AI well to their work. Managing emotions is a priority when working with customers. This is also something that AI does not support and cannot replace students," Dr. Nghiem Bao Anh reiterated.
