Key breakthroughs in economic development in Bao Loc

By implementing breakthrough initiatives and key projects and works during the 2021-2025 period, Bao Loc City has achieved many important targets, creating a foundation for economic development according to the growth plan for the next phase.

Many eco- tourism , resort, and camping areas in Bao Loc City are attracting a significant number of visitors and tourists.

• TRANSFORMING THE URBAN FACE OF THE SOUTHERN CENTRAL AREA

Statistics for the period 2021-2025 show that, with support from the central government, the province, and social mobilization resources totaling over 424 billion VND, Bao Loc City has upgraded and repaired over 287 km of roads connecting rural and urban areas; and invested in a comprehensive system of electricity, water supply and drainage, telecommunications, sidewalks, green spaces, and lighting according to the standards and criteria of a type II urban area. This has not only transformed the city's appearance to be worthy of a central urban area in the southern region of the province, but also contributed to creating favorable conditions for the province's and city's agricultural sector to focus on restructuring crop patterns, developing high-tech agriculture, smart agriculture, and linking agricultural product consumption along the value chain. Specifically, the entire city of Bao Loc has converted a total area of ​​4,000 hectares for new cultivation, including high-quality key crops such as tea (200 ha), coffee (approximately 3,716 ha), and mulberry (182 ha). In addition, 5 VietGAP production models and 12 value chain linkages have been established, attracting the participation of 7 businesses and 5 cooperatives in the area.

In addition, Bao Loc City has invested in developing eco-tourism, resort, and outdoor tourism areas in accordance with the planning. Commercial, service, and night-time economic zones have developed, attracting tourists to visit, have fun, and enjoy themselves; learn about local culture and cuisine; and appreciate the local climate and landscape. During the period 2021-2025, the total number of registered overnight visitors is estimated at 523,587, an average increase of 8.5% per year. By 2025, Bao Loc City will have 144 accommodation establishments; including 18 hotels and tourist villas with 1-4 stars, 18 hotels meeting standards; and 3 international and domestic travel companies. • FOCUS RESOURCES ON IMPLEMENTING KEY PROJECTS

Significantly, according to the specialized agencies of the People's Committee of Bao Loc City, during the period 2021-2025, key projects and works will be prioritized for implementation with concentrated resources. Among these, key projects funded by the state budget have been and are being implemented according to plan, contributing to the socio-economic development of the area. Specifically, key projects funded by the state budget include: the Blao S're Lake flood control project in Loc Chau commune, Dai Lao commune and B'Lao ward (19.6 billion VND), completed in 2022 and 2023; the Youth Activities Center (118 billion VND), the 28/3 Square (54.4 billion VND), currently under construction and expected to be completed in August 2025 and October 2025 respectively; and the Ha Giang stream (175 billion VND), currently undergoing land clearance. Next, the project will utilize a special mechanism with components to be completed in the first quarter of 2025, including: the Dai Nga River surface water treatment plant (37.8 billion VND), with a phase 1 capacity of 5,000 ^m³ /day; the water supply pipeline network system (over 52.5 billion VND), with a capacity of 5,000 ^m³ /day. And other projects for which investment approval has been proposed include: the wastewater collection and treatment plant (1,029 billion VND), with a capacity of 4,000 ^m³ /day; and the Tan Rai Lake surface water supply plant (153 billion VND), with a capacity of 15,000 m³/day...

During the period 2021-2025, Bao Loc City achieved an average annual growth rate of 9.9% in industrial production. Many silk products, silk fashion items, Oolong tea, and pure coffee continued to improve their designs to meet export market demands and enhance the value of the industry. In agriculture, Bao Loc City mobilized over 70 billion VND to invest in completing 11 irrigation projects, dredging river branches and streams, and upgrading and renovating lakes and dams, contributing to an average annual increase in production value of 2.1%. Specifically for 2025, Bao Loc City aims to achieve a growth rate of 9.5-10.5%. This includes a 10.3-11.3% annual growth rate in industrial production value and a 2.5-3.5% growth rate in agriculture and forestry.
