Districts and cities: Solemnly organize candle lighting ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs

On the evening of July 26, districts and cities in the province simultaneously held candlelight ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs on the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023).

* City

At the Tran Lam Ward Martyrs Cemetery, the Thai Binh City People's Committee held a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs. Attending were comrade Hoang Van Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; leaders of a number of provincial units and organizations; leaders of the City People's Committee, Tran Lam Ward, relatives of martyrs and a large number of people in the city.

In a solemn atmosphere, before the souls of 311 martyrs at Tran Lam Ward Cemetery, city leaders, heroic Vietnamese mothers, families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services, youth union members and a large number of people of the city laid wreaths, offered incense, lit candles in memory, expressing their respect and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Before the heroic martyrs, the children of Thai Binh city today vow to unite, use all their abilities, intelligence and enthusiasm to overcome all difficulties and challenges to build their homeland Thai Binh to become more civilized and prosperous.

* Tien Hai

The candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs was held at the Temple and Martyrs Cemetery of Tien Hai district. In a sacred, emotional and respectful atmosphere, the district leaders, officials and people of Tien Hai district offered incense, flowers and lit candles at the Martyrs Temples and on each grave, expressing their respect and gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

In front of the heroic martyrs, the Party Committee and people of Tien Hai district vow to strive to study, train, and work in production; promote creativity, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, and volunteer to build and defend the Fatherland.

During the resistance wars against the French, the Americans and the border war, Tien Hai district had 22,000 outstanding children go to war. Nearly 5,000 people heroically sacrificed for the Fatherland when they were only eighteen or twenty years old. To celebrate the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, Tien Hai district organized many delegations to visit and present gifts to families with meritorious services, create landscapes for martyrs' cemeteries, repair houses for families with meritorious services, and present gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers.

Communes and towns in Thai Thuy district simultaneously held incense offering ceremonies, memorial prayers, and candle lighting ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

During the resistance wars to protect the Fatherland, Thai Thuy district had tens of thousands of enthusiastic children who went to fight and served in combat on all battlefields. Among them were 8,373 martyrs, 1,057 heroic Vietnamese mothers, and over 8,550 children who lost a part of their body to bring glory to the Fatherland... Over the years, the Party Committee and authorities at all levels in the district have always paid attention to and fully and promptly implemented the regimes and policies for families with revolutionary contributions.

In the sacred atmosphere, leaders of Thai Thuy district, relatives of martyrs and many people respectfully laid wreaths, offered incense and lit candles to express their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs.

Before the heroic martyrs, the Party Committee and people of Thai Thuy district vow to promote the glorious revolutionary tradition of previous generations, continue the cause of building and protecting the homeland to become increasingly developed, rich, beautiful and civilized.

* Hung Ha

Hung Ha district organized a ceremony to offer incense, pray for the dead and light candles to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs at the district's Martyrs Temple and 11 martyrs' cemeteries in communes and towns. The ceremony was attended by district leaders, departments, agencies, organizations and many relatives and families of the heroic martyrs.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate and pay tribute to the great contributions of the heroic martyrs; at the same time respectfully offered flowers, incense, and lit candles to express their respect and infinite gratitude for the great sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who contributed to beautifying the glorious history of the nation.

Before the heroic martyrs, cadres, party members, youth union members and people of Hung Ha district vow to continuously study, work, be creative, and devote themselves to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, determined to build the homeland to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.

* Quynh Phu

At 10 martyr cemeteries in communes and towns of Quynh Phu district, localities simultaneously held candle lighting ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Quynh Phu district; heroic Vietnamese mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, representatives of martyrs' relatives and local people in the district laid wreaths, offered incense, and lit candles in gratitude at the memorial and each grave of 6,054 martyrs; at the same time expressed their respect and gratitude for the great sacrifices of the martyrs in the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland.

* Kien Xuong

Kien Xuong district organized a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at martyr cemeteries in the district. Attending the ceremony were district leaders, local leaders, departments, agencies, unions and many relatives and families of martyrs.

During the resistance wars for national independence, Kien Xuong district had 6,140 people who heroically sacrificed, nearly 10,000 people were wounded, sick soldiers, people infected with toxic chemicals, over 700 mothers were awarded or posthumously awarded the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother.

At the memorial ceremony, lighting candles in gratitude, delegates and a large number of people respectfully offered fresh wreaths and incense to the graves to express deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed to bring peace to the homeland and the longevity of the nation.

Before the heroic martyrs, the Party Committee and people of Kien Xuong district vow to promote the glorious revolutionary tradition of previous generations, continue the cause of building and protecting the homeland, making the country increasingly developed, rich, beautiful and civilized.

The candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs is one of a series of activities of districts and cities to celebrate the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, demonstrating the nation's traditional morality of "When drinking water, remember its source"; educating the younger generation about revolutionary traditions, patriotism, and national pride.
