From April 13-15, in Ky Son district, there were hailstorms, tornadoes and strong winds that broke trees and electric poles, affected 3 schools and damaged 665 houses of people in the communes: Bao Thang, Huoi Tu, Bao Nam, Chieu Luu, Nam Can, Muong Long, Muong Tip... Of which, 5 houses in Bao Thang and Chieu Luu communes completely collapsed. 81 houses were severely damaged (from 30% - 50%), including: 42 houses in Bao Thang commune; 3 houses in Chieu Luu commune; 22 houses in Bao Nam commune and 14 houses in Muong Long commune. Immediately after the natural disaster, the People's Committee of Ky Son district directed and established two working groups to visit communes and villages to help people overcome the consequences. In Huoi Tu commune from April 13-14, hail and tornadoes damaged more than 20 houses and broke an electric pole. Immediately after the rain and strong winds stopped, officials of the commune People's Committee and organizations returned to the villages to mobilize forces to help people overcome the consequences, rebuild collapsed houses, and re-roof houses that had collapsed or been damaged by the wind. In Anh Son district, the tornado that occurred on the afternoon of April 14 caused heavy damage estimated at over 70 billion VND. According to data from the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense, the damage in Anh Son district included: 27 damaged houses; 107 hectares of pure rice and 8.1 hectares of hybrid rice; 947.22 hectares of corn, flowers and vegetables (70% total damage); 881 hectares of planted forests; 35.5 hectares of annual crops.
